Sermons for Preaching

Let's do our best to become one!

Content Lee is a member of Christ (3:6; 1 Corinthians 6:15; 12:27), but offices and gifts can be different (Romans 12:4; 1 Corinthians 12:4-5). However, each part of the head and body cannot be separate to build the church and testify of the gospel. Even if there are different classes in the Lord's church, we must become one in serving God.

1. Ways to become one 1-3

(1) Becoming saints 1~ “Walk worthy of the calling to which you were called” In the first half, Paul was imprisoned while doing the Lord’s work, not for help but for the witness of the gospel (6). :20). In prison in Philippi, he praised God (Acts 16:25), and even in prison in Rome, he was living for the Lord (Philippians 3:7-8), so Paul was not boasting about himself. Because God has called us (Isaiah 43:1) and we have been saved by Christ (Hebrews 3:1), it is the duty of a saint to “walk worthy” and to live like a saint. The first thing we do as saints is to offer a living sacrifice that is pleasing to God with our bodies (Romans 12:1), and it will be a good response, and as children and inheritances (2:19), the church will naturally become one when we act in harmony. will be

(2) Keeping the virtues 2~ “With all humility and gentleness, with longsuffering, forbearing one another in love” Jesus said that the heart of Jesus was meek and humble (Matthew 11:29). You will know it and you will become like it. The “humble” knows that he is a sinner (Luke 5:8) and considers others better than himself (Philippians 2:3), Augustine called Christian morality. “Meekness” is an attitude of being willing to submit to God, restraining oneself and being gentle with people's weaknesses. We receive God's forgiveness only when we have “long-suffering . . . forbearing one another” and enduring and forgiving the mistakes of our neighbors to the end (Matthew 6:14-15). If we endure to the end (James 5:7), we can become one.

(3) Making every effort 3~ “Make every effort to keep the bond of peace.” If translated correctly at the beginning, it means “peace like a bond.” It is the peace that I can have between people rather than the peace I can have alone. True peace is in heaven (Luke 19:38), and because Christ has come, there is peace on earth (Luke 2:14). “Make every effort to keep” is a present participle, and it is to keep it continuously. If you “keep peace” as the saying goes, “Peace with all men” in Romans 12:18, the church can become one. In the spiritual world with Christ as the head of “the unity of the Holy Spirit,” the church in heaven and on earth is one, and illegal separation and division is Satan's trick.

2. Reasons to become one 4~6

(1) Because all are oneness 4, 5b~ “There is one body, and in the same way in the one hope of your calling…” Because the spiritual church is one, all the saints must be one, and separation is a human evil. We must do our best to become one. From this verse to verse 6, the reason for striving for peace is that everything related to salvation has become one. The “body” at the beginning refers to the church, and since the spiritual church must be one, it is the invisible church, the mysterious body of Christ (2:16; Romans 12:5; 1 Corinthians 10:17; Colossians 1:24). “In the one hope of our calling,” we all enjoy the same inheritance as children of God, so we are one and one through faith in the same God, because we are united into Christ (Romans 6:3) and are baptized in the name of the Trinity (Matthew 28:19). ), the church is a unity.

(2) Because the Trinity is one. Quadruple, 5th, 6th~ “The Holy Spirit is one” This Holy Spirit is the one who seeks and works within the church (3:20). Because there is only one Holy Spirit, believers regenerated through him become one and have an indivisible sense of unity, and we are baptized into one body by being baptized by that one Spirit (1 Corinthians 12:13). “There are five, one Lord” This Lord is said to be the only begotten (John 1:14, 18, 3:16, 18, Hebrews 11:18, 1 John 4:9), meaning one. He alone is the savior, the common Lord of both Jews and Gentiles, and the only savior (Acts 4:12). “6, There is one God, the Father of all…” Since God is not two, but one (Mark 2:7, 12:32, Yong 8:41, James 2:19), the church life cannot be different. . And because he is the Father of all believers and exists by himself to examine the world (the church) and assert the immanent work and all things, the church is one.

[Conclusion] There was a faction in the Christian religion (1 Corinthians 1:12), and Paul rebuked that this was a strife because of their carnal behavior (1 Corinthians). As we obey the word of the Way, we will receive blessings when we receive his rule as a united church that serves only God (Matthew 6:33)
