Let's enjoy freedom from lack.
Psalm 34:9-10
In times of shortage, how should we overcome these difficulties? I want to take a look at those methods in today's sermon.
1. If you fear the Lord, there is nothing lacking.
They say that those who fear the Lord lack nothing. In a time of need, the way to be free from it is to “fear the Lord God,” he says. In the past, there was a time when I was satisfied with just one room. But, what is the underlying reason for our feeling of inadequacy? It means that we were upscaled as we began to live a life that improved little by little with the blessings God gave us. In other words, the scale of everything has grown and the satisfaction level has grown more and more, and now I have great expectations. So there was no emotion and no satisfaction with anything. Awe means to love out of fear. In speaking of who we are, “you saints,” he emphasizes that God’s people love the Lord in fear, and live contentedly and thankfully in the grace that the Lord has given them. Even if it is a little lacking or a little lacking, it will be a greater blessing to learn to be satisfied while fearing the Lord more and loving the Lord more.
2. Those who seek Jehovah lack nothing.
The second way we find freedom from want is to seek Jehovah God. Even young lions are not always successful in hunting. That is why the text says that even young lions are hungry and needy. But those who seek the Lord say that they lack nothing in all good things. So, what does it mean to seek Jehovah? It is asking the Lord. To be free from lack, ask the Lord. It is not that I try to fill it, but rather fill it by asking the Lord. Those who live by constantly asking the Lord and relying on the Lord will see more of what they have given than what they lack. So, we live a life of gratitude to God for always giving us good things.
3. Fill it with good things.
We need to think carefully about what to fill with when we are short. We are saints. If you give us abundance, it is God’s will, and if we lack it, it is also God’s will. We should not make up for our shortcomings through lies or corruption just because we are hasty in our shortcomings. It says that those who seek the Lord lack nothing for any good. Therefore, the content of filling is filling with the gospel and salvation. If we fill our shortcomings with what God likes, we can enjoy freedom from our shortcomings. If you try to fill the world with the world's way, even the lion will starve to death. May you use God's method to ask, fill, and enjoy freedom.
