Let's keep our blessings
Dear all! May you cherish the blessings you have received from God. It is said that the inheritance passed on by parents cannot be passed on to three generations. Why? I think the cause is because of wrong religious education (Deuteronomy 7:13;).
Through today's text, we would like to think about the secret of keeping the blessings God has given us.
1. First, you must check what blessings you have received.
God said he would give me a land not like the land of Egypt, but the land of Egypt
1) It is a land where people worked hard and sweat as a slave.
2) It is an oppressed land where it was impossible to have children and raise them freely.
3) It is a land without hope.
4) It was a dark land.
5) And above all, the land of Egypt was a place where God could not be worshiped.
2. However, the land that God has blessed
1) Land that absorbs rain.
2) The land that God recommends. It was a new land to enter from physical and mental suffering.
3. Then, what are the conditions for guaranteed blessings?
Verse 13 says, “If you obey the commands I am giving you today, if you love the Lord your God and serve him with all your heart and all your soul.”
So, what are the conditions for guaranteed blessings?
First, we must obey the Word of God. Hebrews 4:12 says, “For the word of God is living and active, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the division of soul and spirit and marrow, and discerning the thoughts and intentions of the heart.” John 1:1 “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.”
Therefore, we believe that if we obey and obey God's Word, we can receive blessings and keep it according to the power of God's Word. However, if you reject and disobey the Word, you will also face hardship and adversity.
Second, love for God guarantees God-given blessings. Therefore, like the Samaritans who did good, we should pray for our neighbors and help each other.
Third, we were told to serve with all our souls, and the Lord promised that we would send the early and latter rains at the proper time to eat and be satisfied. Therefore, when we turn away from our neighbors, we turn away from God.
In conclusion, how can we keep the blessings God has given us?
The way is obedience to the Word of the living God.
And you must serve God with all your heart and mind, and be faithful with all your heart.
And another important warning is that we must become believers who stand firm in the Word so as not to fall into the temptations of the devil and idolatry of the world, and not to lose the blessings we have received.
