Bible: Hebrews 12:1-3 Title: Let's look to Jesus who gives us victory.
child's faith
There was a child who was afraid of dark places.
One night the mother made the child come with a broom from the backyard.
“Mom, it’s dark outside, so I’m scared.”
“Son, Jesus is outside, so what are you afraid of? I will protect you.”
“Is Jesus really out there?”
“Then he is everywhere. He helped you when you were having a hard time.”
Then the child thought for a moment, then opened the back door slightly and spoke through a gap.
“Jesus, if you are there, will you bring me a broom?”
We are celebrating the 21st of a bright and hopeful new year. Hope your wishes come true.
2007 marks the 100th anniversary of the Holy Spirit and the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Holiness Church. In short, the era of the Holiness Church has opened.
The protagonists of this era are you.
In 1907, the Holy Spirit movement took place at Sansan-hyeon Church in Pyongyang, a short history of Christianity, but it served as a foundation for the evangelization of Korea.
Unfortunately, there is no trace of Sansan-hyeon Church, and the Pyongyang Youth Palace is located in its place. Sansan-hyeon Church, like the grain of wheat in the Korean church, was corrupted by the Holy Spirit, and its buds poured out, becoming a touchstone for today's Korean church evangelization.
Although Holiness Church started preaching the gospel 20 years later than other denominations, it occupies the position of one of the three largest denominations in Korea.
If the church had not experienced the pain of disbanding due to the doctrine of the Second Advent in the Japanese colonial era, it would have been a leading denomination leading the Korean church community in view of its passion for evangelism.
If you look at the distribution of Christian churches in Gunsan, Iksan, and Jeongeup in Jeonju, Jeollabuk-do, Holiness Church is the representative church in the region. It would be good for all of us to be proud as a holiness family and to be proud of ourselves.
Among the New Year's blessings, "Happy New Year." There are cases where the other person responds like this when greeting.
“I live in blessing.”
In fact, aren't we all living in blessings like his greetings?
As our tanners want to lead a successful life in 2007, where should our focus be?
You cannot focus on people, powers, or material things. Power doesn't last long. Doesn't matter go round and round? You don't know how careful it is to deal with people.
What does the Bible, the book of hope, tell us? It tells us to look to Jesus.
When a loser looks at you, you will find comfort and hope.
When the afflicted look, they gain strength and enjoy a new life.
When the weak look at them, they gain great strength and become strong.
When despair and despair look at them, they gain hope and gain courage.
Historically, everyone who looked to Jesus was victorious.
Every time I look at Jesus, I can't help but rejoice and be happy. Just as you get hope whenever you look at the big rock face, if you look to Jesus, you will get dreams and visions.
Shortly after the Civil War, a boy named Ernest hears from his mother a legend that a child resembling a large rock face carved into a rocky hill will be born and become a great figure. Ernest lives with sincerity and humility, thinking about how he should live like a big rock face with the expectation of meeting such a person when he grows up.
Over the years, I have met rich rich people, good fighters, good talkers, and good writers, but I didn't look like a great person like a big rock face. Then one day, a poet listening to Ernest's sermon shouts that Ernest is the 'big rock face'. But when Ernest has finished speaking, he returns home and mentally hopes that someone wiser and better than him will appear with a face like a large rock.
The secret to victory in 2007 is to look to Jesus.
What does it mean to look to Jesus?
It is a life that celebrates Sunday.
God's blessings come to those who keep the Lord's Day (Isaiah 56:2).
God's grace will come to those who worship with all their heart and keep the Lord's Day with a prepared body and mind.
When you think of Jesus, hear His words, and sing hymns on Sunday, your soul rejoices and dances.
It builds motivation, confidence, and the belief that you can do it.
It is said that there is nothing impossible in faith, but those who keep Sundays well will have faith.
Also, looking to Jesus is a life of paying tithing.
A life of tithing is a life of distinction. It is a life that can distinguish between mine and God's.
The world is divided into what is mine and what is not.
A wise and upright person is one who does not covet others.
Tithing is a life that separates God's and mine.
I told him to give God's things to God, and to use it for my own needs.
What does this say? teach order.
The universe moves in order. Our bodies also live according to order.
Breaking the order destroys it.
What is the secret to living well? It is a life of order.
God is the Creator, and we are creatures.
To serve God means to keep order.
The proof of that is keeping the Sabbath and paying tithes.
What is the secret to winning 2007?
It is a life of paying tithing, a life of keeping order.
2007 is your year.
I hope this year that God has given you as a gift will be the best year of your life.
When you look to Jesus, you will surely be victorious.
May you be filled with God's grace and blessings.
