Who is my neighbor? (November 6)

(Esther 4:13~17, 2 Corinthians 6:1~2)

The text tells of the time when the Israelites were taken captive to Babylon. The ruler of this country at that time was King Ahasuerus of Persia. He had a woman named Esther as his queen among the captives of Israel.(…)

At that time, there was a powerful man in this country named Haman. He was very proud. He takes good care of those who flatter him and drives him to death if he doesn't. Haman went into and out of the palace, but Mordecai did not bow down to Haman and ignored him.

Haman knew that Mordecai was a Hebrew and hated all the Hebrews. So, out of hatred for Mordecai, he planned to kill all the Hebrews living in Persia. said to the king. “Your Majesty, Great Ruler and Almighty Sovereign. The Hebrew people in this country are against the king. If you give me permission, I will take good care of it and get rid of the aftermath,” Haman said cunningly.

With the king's permission, the decision was made in December to annihilate the scattered Hebrews throughout Persia. When the Hebrews heard this, they mourned and the people fasted.(…) Mordecai told Esther to go out to the king and save this people's troubles. (…) Esther listens to Mordecai and decides. “It is for this time that God made her queen. It’s not that I’m here alone to eat well and be strong.” I believed so and fasted for 3 days. And after asking him to pray, he said, “If I die, I will die” and went to the king.(…)

Esther opened the darkest and most desperate time, a time to bring all the Jews back to life. Is it dark now? It's not always dark. Smart people only see reality. However, people of faith go beyond reality and prepare for the future.(…)

Everyone! When my path is blocked, it doesn't mean that there is only one way. Knowing that God's work is in another place, we must see the reality through faith. God opens the time through those who have faith.

Jesus suffered and died on the cross. And he opened the way to salvation. Let us also become saints who open the time. I am going to tell you the text of 2 Corinthians 6:1-2.

① Be at peace with God.

You must be reconciled to God. That way, the grace you received is not in vain. You must repent of your sins. You cannot be reconciled to God by embracing sin. Do you really want to be reconciled to God? You must obey. Rebellion is a sin in chains. Obedience is better than sacrifice.

It is giving us grace to open up the time to make us evangelize now. Sharing the gospel is also a priority. I have to be honest with my family. What good is it if everyone else is saved and my family is destroyed? Do your best every day, even to guide my family.

② Clearly recognize the preciousness of one soul.

Loving one soul is an attitude of opening the time. When a person comes back and is saved by Jesus, that one soul becomes a soul that changes the world (…) A saved and changed soul is ushering in a new era.

③He who wakes up from sleep opens the time.

The Bible says that now is the time to receive grace. He says that now is the day of salvation. The most important time in the life of faith is now. There are people who open the time right now and there are people who abandon the time.(…)

Now is the time to receive grace. It's time to wake up. Now open the time of salvation for people. Teach me the way to receive grace. The Lord has called us light and salt. It is to show the ordinary person what life looks like. I hope that the December 4th Neighbor Invitational Service will be an opportunity to open a time of grace to my family, my relatives, and my neighbors. Amen.
