Let's pray together (Matthew 18:19-20)
‘There is no water to drink at the time of the flood’ The most difficult thing with tsunamis and radioactive leaks is that it is difficult to obtain water. The whole country suffered a water crisis because tap water was contaminated with radiation. If water doesn't go through the process of purification, it's useless water. You talk a lot, but you don't have the ability to speak. Because the words were not purified by prayer.
Today's text is when a brother commits a crime, he quietly tells them to 'recommend' - 'condemn', so that they realize and feel ashamed. But if they do not listen, two or three witnesses together 'confirm' - show evidence, several people who are wrong If they do not listen, the church teaches them to turn back, and after the words, 'What you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and what you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven' (verse 18). Two or three people speak of the power that arises when the church prays together. These are the words that He blessed after Peter's confession of faith, and that power is promised by the prayers of two or three people and the power given when the church prays together. I pray a lot, but there are things that are not answered. How can we make it a prayer that is answered?
First, if we pray together, it will be accomplished. (Verse 19) “If two of you agree on earth to ask for anything, it will be done for them by my Father who is in heaven.” This is where the word symphony comes from. A prayer ensemble sung before God becomes the most beautiful sound to God. Is there a topic for couples to pray with one voice? Do brothers and sisters have time to pray together? Matthew 7:7 He said, “Ask and you will find; seek and you will find; knock and it will be opened to you.” Just save it. Just find it. Tap to open. But why two? The decisive reason why a prayer alone cannot be answered is because it becomes a prayer topic for oneself. God does not hear selfish prayers. James 4:2-3 “You do not have because you do not ask; you ask and do not receive because you ask wrongly, to spend it on your lusts.” There is power in prayer when it becomes a prayer offered through the fellowship of the saints.
When the Israelites who left Egypt celebrated the Passover, a pillar of cloud and a pillar of fire lead their march. The ark of the covenant was preceded, followed by the tribe of Judah and the tribe of Levi. Moses prays as he marches. “Arise, O LORD, and scatter your enemies, and let those who hate you flee from your presence” (Numbers 10:35). “Return, O LORD, to the ten thousand thousands of Israel” As your people marched, the enemies were immobilized, and where your people stayed, there was the presence of God.
Two or three people are the smallest unit of church life. Just as two people pray together, two or three people are present in a place where two or three people gather to worship in the name of Jesus and for the name of Jesus. He allows us to see the will of God unfolding on this earth where we gather in the name of Jesus. It is a seemingly insignificant meeting, but the evil things of the world do not invade, and the world does not win. Because God's presence is there.
Repentance and salvation are the sovereignty of God. However, it is a privilege granted only to the saints to pray for one another and to unite by bringing them back. There is the presence of God. Almighty God, who is the answer to prayer, is there. If he listens, everything is settled. When two people gather together, we want to become saints who receive answers by praying together, and when two or three people gather together, we want it to become a place of worship where we can read the Word, pray, and sing praises. The church is the gathering place of the saints and the place where God's presence is. I pray that you will be filled with the abundant fruits of heaven by making every effort to gather together, praying for each other, and rejoicing to worship together.
