Bible: Mark 4:1-9
Title: Let's Sow the Seed of the Word
Jesus gave several parables about the kingdom of heaven. The text is Matthew 13; This is a very meaningful parable of the sowing of the seed that is also recorded in Luke 8;
A seed is a seed that bears fruit and is said to be a seed. The seed compared to the Bible is called zerah in Hebrew ([r'z, , Greek spevrma (sperma), spirit seed), which is a fundamental unit that grows and reproduces. It was also used to refer to the seed or seed to become or to mean a race.
Israel is the holy seed (Isa. 6:13), and Jesus Himself is also called the seed (Galatians 3:16). And the gospel is the seed and the kingdom of heaven is compared to the seed.
The parable interpretation of the text is given in the following verse, verse 14 and below.
In Mark 4:14, “He who sows sows the word,” the seed means the word of God, and the place where the seed is sown is the heart of man.
It is said that the seeds sown along the roadside heard the word, but understood it as a shallow, secular language and neglected it. Satan, who is likened to a bird, took the word. It is said that there were about 300 species of birds in Palestine.
In a stone field where the soil is shallow, the word is easy to hear, but because it does not dig deep, it dries up when the sun is shining on it.
The seed that fell among the thorns refers to the sad heart that cannot grow even if the word is planted due to the many worries and all kinds of temptations that are already habitual in the world.
The good land is the field of the heart that has been deeply engraved on one's mind by longing for obedience, perseverance, and the truth that bear the word and bear fruit.
Or 30 times, 60 times, 100 times means that the effect of the fruit can be expressed in various ways that are more than the numbers.
In order to become one who sows the seeds of the Word for a hundred-fold, ten-fold, ten-fold, we want to ponder the path of blessing that we need to know.
1. The essence of the seed of the word
What is the nature of this seed that becomes the Word?
1) It is the mode of existence of God.
John 1:1 “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.”
In his attitude toward the Bible, where the Word of God is visible, Calvin said that he should receive what he is saying right now.
At the very least, the attitude of listening to the Bible should be so reverent, earnest, and quietly able to listen. What we need to know when we talk about the Word is that when we say that God Himself is the way of being God, can we be light in our attitude toward the Word?
2) It is the word of life.
1 John 1:1 “As for the word of life, which was from the beginning, which we have heard, and which we have seen with our eyes, which we have looked upon and have touched with our hands.”
Acts 5:20 Go, stand in the temple, and tell the people all the words of this life.”
God is living.
Psalm 18:46 “The LORD lives; bless my rock; exalt the God of my salvation.”
Matthew 16:16 “Simon Peter answered and said, Thou art the Christ, the Son of the living God.”
3) It is Young
John 6:63 “It is the Spirit that gives life; the flesh is of no avail. The words I have spoken to you are spirit and are life.”
The word pneu'ma used when referring to the Spirit means the Spirit of God, the Holy Spirit used, and the Spirit of Creation. So God said, If you do, it is done.
2. Must bear fruit (faithful promise)
The seed of God's word must have the power to bear fruit. People break promises and betrayal, but God does not.
Matthew 5:18 “Truly, I say to you, until heaven and earth pass away, not one jot or tittle of the law will pass away, but all will be fulfilled.”
God's words are sometimes fulfilled quickly, or when the time of God's kairos is appropriate, it must be fulfilled.
Although it may seem late in the mind of man, God's time is never late.
After 28 years of believing in Jesus, my mother received the Lord. You don't know how frustrated I've been all this time. However, when I heard the news that I had received it, I was very happy because it seemed that I believed in God's time very quickly.
Isaiah 45:23 "I have sworn by me that righteous words go out of my mouth, and they do not return; every knee will bow to me, and every tongue will swear."
The person who most certainly believed in the authority of the word of the Lord in the Bible was the centurion. He was praised by the Lord as the best faith in Israel.
Matthew 8:10 "When Jesus heard this, he marveled and said to those who followed him, "Truly, I say to you, I have not found such great faith in anyone in Israel."
There is no one who has lived according to God's will and has not received the blessing of fruit according to the covenant of the Word. The word of God is also described by some as an open secret. It's a perfect fit.
It is a message of blessing that has already been revealed, but it is a secret to those who do not receive it by faith. But those who believe must receive the blessing of the promise.
3. Must be sown (missionary nature)
The seed of God's Word has the nature of the seed itself, so that those who receive it want to pass it on to others and sow it in the field of their hearts.
first,
1) Sowing seeds must first be received in one's heart
That is why we must experience, realize, and rejoice in the reason we need to tell others.
2) You must sow the seeds of the Word in your real life.
Therefore, you must receive blessings and understand God's living work, walk with God in your life, and experience miracles, and understand your life completely differently.
3) Tell others (it is a blessing to spread missionary work)
When you receive the Word of God, plant it in your heart, put it into practice, and experience the miracle of the Word, you are bound to convey the same power of the Word to others.
People of other religions have a negative misunderstanding about Christians' zeal for evangelism, but it's because they don't know God's promises, words of grace, and miracles.
The only way to live a good life is to win by sowing the word of God.
Psalm 126:5 “Whoever sows in tears will reap with joy.”
1 Corinthians 9:11 “Now that we have sowed you spiritually, do you think it is excessive to reap your physical things?”
The word of God is in our hands today as the spirit of life that creates life without change. The Word of God is not at the ends of the earth or on a spiritual mountain.
Deuteronomy 30:11-16 “This command I am giving you today is not difficult for you, nor is it far off, 12 it is not in heaven, so you say, ‘Whoever goes up to heaven for us and brings the command to us, and let us hear it and do it. nothing to do
13 It is not outside the sea, and you are not saying, ‘Who will cross the sea for us and bring the commandment to us, that we may hear it and do it?
14 But the word is very near to you, and it is in your mouth and in your heart, and you can do it. 15 Behold, I have set before you today life and good and death and evil.
16 I am commanding you today to love the LORD your God, and to walk in all his ways, and to keep his commandments, decrees, and ordinances, so that you may live and multiply, and the LORD your God will bless you in the land you are going to enter. 』
The miraculous words of God and the words of salvation are this one Bible book printed at a cheaper price than any gold jewelery box. I pray that even if the world changes and chaos continues amid contradictions, we pray that we will become sowers of the word of the living God, and that we and our neighbors will become witnesses of the word, those who receive the blessings of salvation and creation.
