Let's think about the above
Contents
20091129 Let us think of the above (Colossians 3:1-4)
Therefore, if you have been raised with Christ, seek the things above, where Christ is seated at the right hand of God. When Christ appears, you will also appear with him in glory.
The French thinker Pascal described a person as a 'thinking reed'. This is a very meaningful word.
God has given man the privilege of thinking.
However, for a person, the behavior that appears depending on the kind of thinking will bring completely different results.
In the text of the text, the Apostle Paul told us to think about the things above.
'Things above' is the opposite of 'things on earth', and it can be said that this is God's thought.
30,000 miles in search of mom movie
Marco's family living in Genoa, Italy, around 1882, has a difficult family because his father runs a free clinic for the poor. So, her mother leaves for work in Argentina, and Marco saves money while working hard to go see her. 9-year-old Marcos leaves for Italy on a boat bound for South America Marco meets rough nature and rough people, and sometimes meets good people and gets help. A mother works at a ranch and will soon die of a serious illness. It is a film of tears going to the hometown of Genoa after being blessed.
Our religious life is very similar.
Now, we need to organize our thoughts according to the meaning of the text in verse 1, "If you have been raised with Christ, seek the things above."
I put the honey jar on the shelf and look at it all day when mom and dad go to work.
A widow believed in only one son and was gone, but her son was called by God in a car accident.
The mother was so shocked that she wanted her son to go to the country he went to.
1. If we cannot find the above, we are poor people.
1 Corinthians 15:19 If our hope in Christ is only in this life, we are of all men the most pitiful.
1 Corinthians 15:50 I say this, brethren, that flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God, nor do the corruptible inherit the incorruptible.
2. He who seeks the above always works
Philippians 3:13 Brethren, I do not yet consider myself to have grasped it, but to do one thing: forgetting what is behind and grasping what is ahead. 14 I press toward the goal for the reward of the above call of God in Christ Jesus.
Revelation 5:13 And I heard all that is in heaven and on earth, under the earth and on the sea, and all that is in them, saying, To him who sits on the throne and to the Lamb be praise and honor and glory and power for ever and ever.
3. Those who seek the above suffer hardships
2 Corinthians 11:24-27 I was beaten five times by the Jews, less than one forty; 25 I was beaten with rods three times, I was stoned three times, I was shipwrecked three times, a day and a night in the depths; In danger, in danger from our own people, in danger from Gentiles, in danger in the city, in danger in the wilderness, in danger at sea, in danger among false brethren, 27 and toil and toil, many times sleepless, hungry, thirsty, often hungry, cold and naked.
Joseph, Daniel,
For example, in Genesis 19:26, didn't Lot's wife turn into a pillar of salt when she looked back and did not go forward? If the children of God still look back and do not look forward, they will become the modern-day pillars of salt of Lot. Even Jesus was not pleased that the saints looked back and could not see. He said, “He who puts his hand to the plow and looks back is not fit for the kingdom of God” (Luke 9:62).
4. People of faith move forward with imagination
Revelation 21:21-24 And the twelve gates were twelve pearls, each gate one pearl, and the streets of the city were pure gold like clear glass.
22 I did not see a temple in the city, for the Lord God Almighty and the Lamb are its temple.
23 The city needs no sun or moon to shine on it, for the glory of God shines on it, and the Lamb is its lamp.
24 The nations will walk in its light, and the kings of the earth will come in with their glory.
Anyone who truly believes in Jesus will receive Jesus as the true Savior. So, from that time on, the Spirit of Christ has been with him and he is always with him.
Romans 8:9 says that anyone who does not have the Spirit of Christ does not belong to Christ. Therefore, a Christian is never alone. Jesus said earlier in John 14:16 that he will not leave us orphans, but will send the Counselor, the Holy Spirit, and when the Holy Spirit comes, He will never leave us and will be with us forever.
We must always live with the hope of heaven, and we must live holy so that we can welcome the coming Jesus in glory. If we live like this, we will overcome tribulation and fight the devil and overcome. And you will live with God's love and blessings. I believe that when our Lord returns, we will receive the blessing of welcoming the Lord in a glorious form, without blemish, spot, or reproach.
Abraham did not know where he was going with the eyes of faith, but he obeyed God's word and was able to leave his father's house, his relatives, and his only son, Isaac, who was 100 years old, was able to offer up to God. He went, but he came out alive by looking up with the eyes of faith. If you look up with the eyes of faith, you can experience God who makes all things possible. Therefore, it can encourage and give courage to those in need.
Dear saints, we are not 30,000 miles to find our mother, but to meet the Lord.
It's going a great way.
Hebrews 11 is the faith chapter. It is said that faith is the substance of what is hoped for. And we end this reality by looking at verses 33-40.
33 By faith they conquered kingdoms, did righteousness, obtained promises, shut the mouths of lions,
Destroys the power of fire, escapes the edge of the sword, becomes strong from weakness, becomes valiant in warfare, and defeats the camps of the Gentiles. Women receive their dead by resurrection, and some punish them with evil punishment to obtain a better resurrection. Others were harassed and whipped, but also tried in chains and prisons, being stoned, sawing, tempted, and killed by the sword, and wandering in sheep's and goats' skins and wandering around in poverty, tribulation, and abuse (The world is not worthy of such a man.) They wandered in the wilderness and in the mountains, in the dark caves and in the crypts. All these men received the testimony because of their faith, but they did not receive the promise.
For God has prepared something better for us, so that we may not be made perfect without us.
Let's pray together. We are not looking for a mother for 30,000 miles, but in fulfilling the mission entrusted to us today to meet in glory with the hope to meet the Lord, no matter how difficult or difficult there are, we will surely endure and overcome adversity and meet the Lord of glory. Give me strength, let's call the Lord 3 times and pray
