Chapter 278
What kind of church is the Philippian church? Lydia, a merchant, was the first believer, and Paul and Silas were imprisoned in Philippi because they healed a slave girl possessed by a demon. Because of this incident, the prison guard and his family repented and believed in Jesus and a church was established in Philippi. Through this church, how does Paul tell Christians to live a life worthy of the gospel?
Philippians 1:27 But live worthy of the gospel of Christ, because even though I go away from you, you stand with one mind and work together for the gospel faith...
What is cooperation?
協力 (cooperation) means that the three perfect numbers, who put the cross in front of them and gather their strength, are the wise men, and to gather strength in such a state is cooperation.
It urges us to cooperate in our faith with one heart (one heart) and one mind, while living a “life worthy of the gospel.” In fact, the church should have one heart. The heart to believe and serve Jesus, this heart must become one. Other than that, nothing is incidental. You have to stay true to the essence, and if you lose your mind to the incidental things, you are not a wise person. Then, with what kind of heart must we become one in order to become the heart of Jesus and live a life of faith more worthy of the Gospel?
1. Be of one mind.
Philippians 2:1 Therefore, if there is any exhortation in Christ, if there is any comfort in love, or any fellowship of the Holy Spirit, if there is mercy or mercy,
Philippians 2:2 be of the same mind, of the same love, of one accord, of one mind,
□ A church is also a place where people gather. A person's mind is a hundred and a thousand, and the mind cannot become one. Everyone has a different opinion, opinion, and argument. But in Christ Jesus, when we exhort our brethren, when we give comfort in love, when we have fellowship in the Holy Spirit, when we eat and talk about human life, when we eat and talk about human life, when we talk about human life, when we talk, [慈悲] means: to love and pity others deeply.
What kind of heart are you telling me to do?
Philippians 2:2 be of the same mind/ of the same love/ of one accord/ of one mind/
□ Be of one mind. must be of the same mind. When we have the same love as the heart of loving Jesus, we can live a life worthy of the gospel when we have one mind (the heart of Jesus) with the mind of Jesus.
John 17:11 I am no longer in the world, but they are in the world, and I am coming to you. Holy Father, preserve them in your name, which you have given me, so that they may be one as we are.
When the family, the church, the workplace, and the heart become one, unity, strength, and great works can be accomplished. One of the devil's greatest goals is division. mind is divided.
Matthew 12:25 Jesus, knowing their thoughts, said, "Every nation divided against itself will be desolate, and every town or house divided against itself will not stand.
Matthew 12:26 If Satan casts out Satan, he is divided against himself; then how will his kingdom stand?
Because Adam and Eve sinned, they rebuked each other and their hearts were divided. None of them admitted they were wrong.
1 Corinthians 1:10 Be perfectly united in the same word, in the same mind, in the same mind.
□ Therefore, although our church is a small family church, as God has always been the one and only God, I pray that we too will become a church of one heart and love for one another.
2. A heart that treats others better
Pride is what God hates the most. Satan the devil was arrogant and was cast out of heaven. Others may have many more strengths than mine. Being the best is pride and selfishness. What happens to the church when it makes this claim?
Philippians 2:3 Let nothing be done out of strife or vanity, but in lowliness of mind let each one consider others better than himself.
will fight The church that should be reconciled will quarrel. Vanity means 'delusion, wrong idea (belief), illusion, misunderstanding'. Misunderstandings and misunderstandings occur due to quarrels and wrong thoughts. Jesus said:
Matthew 20:28 The Son of Man came not to be served, but to serve, and to give his life a ransom for many.
He even took off his dusty sandals and washed his feet. When we become a church that cares, loves, and cares among the members, listens to others, and cares about the heart of others, we can live a life worthy of the gospel.
□ Therefore, I pray that you will become a saint who considers others better and honors them rather than strife and vanity.
3. Caring for others
Philippians 2:4 Let each one look at his own work, but also look at the work of others, so that my joy may be full.
A believer must do his or her work first. And take care of other people's work. When Paul sees such a church member, it is said that his mouth is filled with joy.
Romans 12:15 Rejoice with those who rejoice, weep with those who weep
If our church has a love for each other, we should step out and help each other. I pray that the church will laugh and cry together.
What kind of heart does Paul next ask us to model?
1) The heart of Jesus
Philippians 2:5 Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus.
Philippians 2:6 Although he was in the form of God, he did not regard equality with God as robbery.
Philippians 2:7 Rather, he emptied himself, taking the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men.
Philippians 2:8 And being found in human form, he humbled himself and became obedient to the point of death, even the death of a cross.
Philippians 2:9 Therefore God highly exalted him and gave him the name that is above every name.
Philippians 2:10 At the name of Jesus every knee should bow, they in heaven and on earth and under the earth.
Philippians 2:11 Every tongue confesses that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.
□ When you are humbled, humbled, and obeyed the word of Jesus even unto death, you ascend to heaven and sit at the right hand of God, and all people glorify Jesus.
One heart with the heart of Jesus, a heart that considers others better, a heart of caring for others this is the heart of Jesus.
<Example>
I used to play with fire with a magnifying glass when I was young. Collect sunlight with a magnifying glass. If you put a magnifying glass on the frown, it ignites as smoke rises. As a young child, it couldn't have been so strange. When sunlight is collected, it becomes a fire, and when the fire spreads, it burns Mount Tai. What is the decisive cause of such a small embers? The light is focused and the light becomes one.
<Conclusion>
With one accord A life worthy of the gospel is a life that Jesus is pleased with.
(Proverbs 17:1) It is better for a house to be at peace with only a piece of dry bread than for a house full of flesh and strife.
A gracious church, a growing church is a uniting church.
Philippians 2:2 Be of the same mind, of the same love, of one accord, of one mind... I pray that the church will be pleasing to the Lord.(*)
