Sermons for Preaching

No one can steal the title

Contents John 10 says, “I give them eternal life, and they will never perish, and no one will snatch them out of my hand (John 10:28).

Introduction: Dear Saints! Jesus, the Good Shepherd, knows his sheep and protects them, but he has sufficient power to keep them, so he will never give them into the hands of his enemies.

First: The division of opinion (John 10:19-21).

Among the Jews, public opinion about Jesus was divided in two. Most people assumed that Jesus was possessed by a demon. Because it seemed that Jesus was breaking down the religious standards they had. In particular, the Pharisees were rabbis who taught the law, and because they encountered Jesus the most, they played a leading role in spreading bad public opinion about Jesus and not listening to Jesus. When you feel that Jesus said something that is different from your own, are you willing to reject my thinking and accept the words of Jesus? Only a few people thought that the things that were revealed through the works of Jesus had nothing to do with demons, and raised an objection as to whether a demon could open the eyes of the blind.

Second: the rejection of the Jews (John 10:22-39).

Although public opinion was divided, when Jesus did not take the Messianic declaration or action they expected, the frustrated Jews surrounded Jesus and asked for his identity to be resolved. In the eyes of the Jews who want a political Messiah, they claim to be the Messiah, but Jesus' actions include hanging out with sinners, casting out demons, healing the sick, and breaking the Sabbath. I was wondering if you were doing it.

Because Jesus is trying to establish the spiritual kingdom of God, the focus is not on each other. So Jesus declares that you do not believe because you are not my sheep. But the Lord's sheep, that is, the people of the Lord's spiritual kingdom, hear the voice of the Lord, and once the followers are caught in the Lord's hand, no one can take it away. Because God the Father and Jesus are one body, there is no being more powerful than Jesus in this universe. No matter how the devil tries to overthrow us, the Lord will protect us and give us victory. Do you believe that the Lord will sustain you to the end?

Conclusion: Dear Saints! I can miss the hand that holds the Lord, but I cannot let go of the hand that holds me.

Prayer: Our Lord Jesus Christ! Help me to understand and follow your thoughts and will rather than my own.
