Text: Revelation 5:1-14
Title: No one opened the book except the Lamb!
The book of Revelation is a record of things to come. However, people who have never experienced the things of the Book of Revelation are vying with each other and are publishing books because they are at home. Furthermore, some people say that they invite people every day and even hold special lectures. According to the words of Revelation, it is written, “No one will open the book on the earth except the Lamb.” In other words, those who do not have the seal of Jesus Christ will never be able to interpret the book.
So, are these people really sent by Jesus Christ? It would be a good thing if they were really sent by Jesus Christ, but if they don't, the information they published through their books and special lectures is all lies. The Lord also records the following words at the end of the Book of Revelation, perhaps in case these false pastors will appear like bamboo shoots in the future.
“I testify to every one who hears the words of the prophecy of this book, if anyone adds to them, God will add to him the plagues that are written in this book; and if anyone takes away from the words of the prophecy of this book, God will He will take away your participation in the tree of life and in the holy city, which are written in this book.” It sounds simple, but it is a frightening statement. But what's even scarier than these words is that he's casually talking about things he's never experienced before, as if he had experienced it.
The Bible is actually a book of prophecies from Genesis to Revelation. Prophecy literally means foretelling things that will happen in the future. However, no matter how useful the words are, if they are not written down, they disappear and disappear, so they are left as a record. The Bible is also a book in which God records the things that will happen in the future through His servants. The Bible records the circumstances at that time, but it also records more things that will happen in the future.
What we realize through the Bible is that the contents of prophecy are not known to the people of the time. A good example is this in Isaiah 35:6. “Then the lame will leap like a deer, and the tongue of the mute will sing, for waters will flow in the wilderness, and streams will flow from the desert.” It is written in the Word that means to save.
However, let alone the people of the time, 700 years later, thousands of Jews living under Roman oppression, as well as the rabbis who studied only the Word of God every day, believed only that the Messiah would soon set them free from Roman oppression. He could not even imagine that Christ was the word that would save sinners from their sins. This is what it means to say that humans live in darkness. No matter how smart people are on earth, they cannot understand the providence of God, and no matter how hard they practice their faith for a long time, they will never be able to understand the contents of the Bible unless they are born again into Christ.
The words prophesied through the mouth of Isaiah about 700 years before the coming of Christ were fulfilled precisely when Christ came to the land of Israel. However, even at that time, many biblical theologians and false prophets came up with various interpretations to suit their taste even with this one word, so many Israelites must have gone to destruction because they did not believe in Christ as the Messiah. This wrong interpretation is not only destroying yourself, but also destroying the people around you.
The book of Revelation is not a book that should not be freely interpreted by anyone at the present time in which we live. So, does the book of Revelation have to be closed forever? no. The book of Revelation is not as dreadful as we think it is, nor is it a book to be shunned. However, it is to refrain from interpreting and judging carelessly until the one who has received the Lamb's seal has opened it.
For example, if a competent biblical theologian or a spiritual person who can see through heaven and earth interprets and interprets the Book of Revelation wonderfully, but cannot fulfill the words of Revelation, this is also a person who has not escaped the status of a servant. No matter how much a servant is used, he cannot understand the will of his master, and since servants cannot forgive the sins of humans, they cannot bring salvation to souls either. As our proverb says, “It is said that if you make rice cake with words, Joseon will have enough to eat,” anyone can easily say, but fulfilling the written word is not something anyone can do.
The Bible is the fulfillment of the words God wrote through His servants and later through His Son. Moses led the Israelites out of Egypt and led them to the Wilderness of Paran, but that did not give the Israelites eternal rest. Likewise, Joshua also led the Israelites to the land of Canaan, but that did not mean that they would immediately enter the kingdom of heaven and enjoy eternal rest. These are all examples of what the Son of God will do in the future by reproducing them as models in advance.
As I said before, the book of Revelation is a written record of the things that God will accomplish through His Son in advance through the Apostle John. Therefore, in order for the book of Revelation to be interpreted accurately, it will only be correctly interpreted when a person sent by God, that is, a person sealed with the Lamb's seal, comes before us.
However, fulfilling the written word is never something that anyone can do. Those sent by Christ, who will come before us in the future, will also fulfill all the words written in Revelation according to the Father's will without any error. However, for those who do not believe the words of the one sent by Christ, all judgments will be fulfilled just as it is written in the Book of Revelation. -He who has an ear, let him hear and understand-
