Ex 16:13-36.
(Ex 16:17-18)
When the Israelites came out of Egypt, they lived in the wilderness for 40 years. At that time, the Israelites ate manna from heaven for 40 years. However, it was an amazing form to meet.
1. It was the bread of grace.
A person is a form of no effort whatsoever. It is entirely God-given food. God 100, human 0 form.
2. It was enough form.
There is no record that 2 million people died of starvation even if they did not farm or livestock for 40 years. It was enough. There is no mention of fighting over food. It was enough food to feed 2 million people for 40 years.
3. It was a long-term form.
It's been 40 years. It is a rare area where it does not rain a single drop. In the long run, God fed the Israelites with manna.
4. Forms to be remembered forever.
Today, everyone remembers Manna. So, there are many names called Manna. Many meet the name of the church, the name of the restaurant, and the name of the business. A form to remember.
5. A mysterious form.
Now, after 40 years of wandering in the wilderness, we crossed the Jordan River and entered the promised land of Canaan. And I started farming. As soon as I started eating the farmed food, I stopped. Joshua 5 speaks in one word.
There is another strange thing.
The Israelites gathered manna every morning. I had to get it in moderation.
If more were collected, there was nothing left. Even if I reaped less, there was not enough. At that time, if we had gathered without greediness, we could have peace of mind and enjoy the same amount.
This kind of life gives us freedom.
I would like to open the Word with this story.
There was a businessman who believed in Jesus and lost his mind only to making money. I made a lot of money without selling used cars.
One day he had a dream. I was looking through hell under the guidance of someone.
There it was written:
I had an eerie feeling. But he opened the gates of hell and entered. My deceased father was there. I was so happy to see my father in hell and hugged him. My father said in tears.
said the son.
If not, the result would have been better.
We are a group of people who become like Jesus. So we praise.
In one word, the life of Jesus was a life of not .
1. Sleep.
Jesus always woke up early in the morning and started his day with prayer.
(Mark 1:35)
People of faith should first sleep less. I can't do everything I want to sleep and sleep. Each day should begin with prayer. So Solomon says in Proverbs:
(Proverbs 24:33-34)
People who have done great things are characterized by people who sleep less. The more lazy people are, the more they sleep. Like Jesus, we need to sleep a little less and start with prayer in the morning.
2. Let's be comfortable
The life of Jesus was not a life of trying to be comfortable with the body. Jesus left the high and high throne and came to this earth. He was born in the streets on this earth, lived on the streets, died on the streets, and ascended from the streets to heaven.
you always said
(Mt 8:20)
There were no comfortable days, and he traveled here today and there tomorrow, preaching only the Gospel.
He refused to live a physically comfortable life. You bought it comfortably.
Then Hitler said:
At that time, if the Christians next to Hitler had refused to be less comfortable and preached, Hitler would not have killed 6 million Jews each.
We must look around us.
Because if we do not evangelize, there may be people who will do great things. We should be comfortable and work.
There are reports of investigations conducted by Dr. Frederick Orato.
These days, it is a report that the members of the church like to sleep and feel comfortable, but they do not have a formal religious life. A church with 100 members was surveyed.
Five could not be found.
Twenty of them never prayed.
Twenty-five had never read the Bible.
Thirty people were frequently absent from services.
Forty people did not donate.
Fifty did not study the Bible.
60 people did not attend the afternoon service at all.
Eighty people did not attend the special prayer meeting.
Ninety people did not have a home service.
The 95 people did not evangelize even a single person in their lifetime.
Everyone liked to play and wanted to believe in Jesus comfortably.
3. Let's Talk
Looking at the words of Jesus and hearing them, he did not say a single word that was useless. Of course, he wrote only the necessary words, but he never said a single word that would make a mistake.
It is said that when a carpenter cuts a piece of lumber, he cuts it with three ashes at once. Jesus thought a few times and spoke once.
Speaking was the language of Jesus.
Livingston, who devoted his life to missionary work in Africa, received an honorary doctorate from the University of Oxford, England. I testified before I got my degree. Livingston gave this testimony.
At the end of the testimony, a student asked a question.
Livingston replied with a smile.
That's right.
Livingston didn't say much. I didn't say long words. I just believed without saying a word.
Just believe without a word. Take your words down. Just take action. You can win.
4. Let's Eat
There is something strange about the Bible. There is no mention of what kind of food Jesus liked. There is no mention of which restaurant you went to. He didn't even say what kind of food he liked. There is no mention of eating, clothing, and sleeping.
We should eat a little less and love.
The heart of Christ is to eat less and feed others more.
A few days ago, my wife and I went to Ttukseom. A strawberry merchant was selling strawberries on display in a mobile car.
My wife said she wanted to eat strawberries. I ordered strawberries worth 5,000 won. And said.
And I looked at his face. It felt so good.
I ate 500 won less and made 500 won more happy.
A man took a taxi and found 10,000 won in his wallet. It was 10,000 won to my house. He wanted to give the taxi driver 1,000 won, so he got off the 9,000 won street and walked home, entertaining the taxi driver.
If I eat less, I can make the other person happy.
There is a short story written by Tolstoy. The content is like this.
The rich man said to a man.
He was excited. So as soon as the sun came up, I started running. I was so excited that the sun was about to go down after running for a while. He had to go back to his place until sunset. So, with all my might, I started running to where I left off. I barely made it back to where I left off before the sun went down. But he was so exhausted that he fell on the spot and died. People said as they buried his body in the ground.
We should try to have less.
No, this is the heart of Christ.
5. Let's Live
The life of our Lord Jesus Christ was an attitude to live and for the glory of God. Jesus lived on this earth for 33 years. And at the end, he cried out and went to heaven.
There is only one purpose for which Jesus came to this earth. He came to this earth to die, bearing the sins of all sinners. He accomplished all these things and went to the kingdom of God.
It is an attitude that it is good to live a little less for the glory of God. This attitude is the attitude of a martyr.
It means to devote 60 minutes a day to know what God intends for me and for the church. It is to save time to spend on other things, spend less time, and set aside 60 minutes of time for God.
15 minutes to pray, 15 minutes to listen to the Word, 15 minutes to brag about God, and 15 minutes to practice God's Word.
It means that if you spend less time on other things and live in God like this, your faith will grow and grow. I need to shorten the time for me a little bit. This was the Lord's life.
That's right.
Our Lord Jesus Christ lived in the attitude of not .
We are servants of Christ, imitating Jesus Christ.
There are times when a car gets stuck in a sandy desert and the wheels spin and can't get out. At this time
There is a way out. Blow some air out of the tire. and if you drive
Hut wheels don't spin.
You just need to inflate a little less than a solidly inflated tire.
God wants us to live life like Christ.
Finally, I would like to conclude with this poem. This poem is written by poet Won-man Choi.
I want it to be a calmer lake than the turbulent sea.
I want it to be the spring of my heart's valley rather than the overflowing river.
I want it to be a subtle grass bug rather than a loud trumpet.
I want to be a wild flower that blooms in the grassland rather than a flower in the palace.
Rather than a tall tower of Babel, I would like to have a thatched house on a hill where a stream flows.
