People who expect a title promise
Contents
1. It is Almighty God who made a covenant with us.
(Genesis 17:1) These words are very meaningful. Abraham and Sarah had a child through Hagar in a negative way. But God is saying, “I am Almighty God.” What is the meaning of these words? You didn't believe in me and tried to get a son in your own way, but I am the Almighty God who can make the impossible possible beyond any human way possible. God is the one who can fulfill his promises without the strength of Abraham or the ingenuity of Sarah. It is a God who fulfills His promises, no matter how desperate the situation. We do not know how many difficulties lie ahead of us in the new year of 2007. Man has despair, but God has no despair. Man is impossible, but God is impossible. There is nothing that man cannot do, but there is nothing that God cannot do.
2. To fulfill the promise, God requires us to live a holy life.
Verse 1 says, “Walk before me and be perfect.” The word “walk before me” in the text is a reminder of the incident when Abraham took a step backwards in faith by giving birth to Ishmael. For Abraham of the past, who thought and acted freely without God's will or thought, now he is living under the light of the Holy Spirit in the light of God's promise to live while obscuring whether his attitude is right or not. We are saying that unless we live a holy life and a chaste life, God will not fulfill the promises. Just as a dirty vessel cannot contain good food, an unholy life cannot contain the blessings of God. If you want to become a vessel for blessings in the new year, I hope you first become a holy vessel.
3. The content of God's promise is the blessing of prosperity.
(Genesis 17:2) God's promises are initiated by God, progressed by God, and finished by God. Philippians 1:6 says, “We are confident that he who began a good work in you will bring it to completion by the day of Christ Jesus.” God promised Abraham the blessing of prosperity. This promise is a blessing that also applies to Abraham's descendants who believe in this promise. So this promise also applies to us. Since God has promised us to prosper, we cannot help but prosper. Because God does not change what He has promised.
