Pour it out! (Acts 2:12-21)

After 120 saints were filled with the power of the Holy Spirit, they began to speak in tongues according to their gifts. At that time, on the Day of Pentecost, people gathered in Jerusalem from all over the world looked at the saints speaking their own language with strange eyes and mocked that they were drunk with new wine.

Peter explains this phenomenon by quoting the prophecy of the prophet Joel, saying, “In the last days, the covenant that God promised has been fulfilled.”

1. The world of visible matter

Most people believe in what they see and care about it. This can be seen even among those who believe in Jesus. Even the disciples paid attention to the visible. So, when the kingdom of the Lord came, they struggled to ascend to a higher position.

In a way, it is certain to be visible. It's reliable. Goliath boasted of his great stature and his spear and javelin. Israel trembled before him. But what is visible is finite. I can't believe it. Someday it will disappear.

2. Invisible Spiritual World

Jesus' concern was the soul of man. The Lord saw poor souls dying. He worked to save these souls. And he gave and taught the disciples the mission of saving souls.

But the soul is invisible to the physical eye. In order to see and save souls, we must have our spiritual eyes open. That is, they must be anointed by the Holy Spirit. So, the Lord constantly wanted the Holy Spirit to come upon His disciples, and when He ascended into heaven, He told them to wait without leaving Jerusalem until the Holy Spirit came.

The Holy Spirit came upon us where we believed and prayed the word of the Lord. The disciples were filled with the Holy Spirit. They are now relying on the invisible power of the Holy Spirit to accomplish God's work.

3. The Holy Spirit coming today

The Lord has promised to pour out the power of the Holy Spirit in the last days. The last days mean just before the coming of the Lord's kingdom. The kingdom of the Lord is a holy kingdom. You cannot enter unless you are a person of the Holy Spirit. The time is urgent.

The Lord grants us the anointing of the Holy Spirit in this age to love the dying souls and to save the nations.

Let us do the Lord's work with power by receiving gifts through the anointing of the Holy Spirit. Let children prophesy of the coming Lord, young people see visions of the Lord's kingdom coming true, and adults dream of the kingdom of God.

Holy Spirit, come to the depths of the hearts of the beloved saints who are longing for the Lord who are gathered here today. Come to the church, the body of the Lord. Come wherever the gospel is preached. Pour out your Spirit.
