◎ Introduction
: All the religions of the world want to have a right relationship with God. (We want to be recognized and accepted by God.)
※ No one can obtain the right to live before God through their own efforts or toil. Because man cannot be perfect. God receives people through His Son (the love and grace of Jesus Christ).
※ Because we are imperfect, we must forsake our own righteousness and depend on the righteousness of Jesus Christ.
1. Paul is named at the pinnacle of self-righteousness. (4-6).
2. To obtain the righteousness and perfection of Christ. (7-11)

1. Paul is named at the pinnacle of self-righteousness. (4-6)
※ Paul is an example of those who want to approach God in their own way.
※ Paul did everything good he could to secure God's approval.
However, his goodness and deeds were not acceptable to God. I couldn't make myself whole.
※ “…I am more so” Nevertheless, it is impossible to save oneself.
One). The privilege of ancestry
① “He was circumcised on the eighth day” and inherited a good lineage. Orthodox Jews (circumcised on the eighth day)
② “They are of the tribe of Israel” They say that they have a wonderful national heritage and a very special relationship with God.
③ “The tribe of Benjamin” Benjamin is a tribe that has been loyal throughout the history of Israel (1 Kings 12:1).
2). achievements through one's own efforts
④ “Hebrews among Hebrews” claiming to have the language and customs of the Jews.
⑤ “I am a Pharisee” As an orthodox sect (Pharisean), he has lived a life strictly separated from others.
⑥ “By zeal” His zeal sought to annihilate those who argued other than the Pharisees.
⑦ “He is without blemish” It is said that he tried to keep the law and kept it.
※ Paul says that goodness and righteousness do not consist in observing religious rites and rites.

※ One purpose of Paul's life was the righteousness and perfection of Jesus Christ.
※ Even if Paul's life is good, it can never be perfected. It's still not enough and you have to die.
Paul must trust in the righteousness and perfection of Jesus Christ to surround him.
※ He believed with all his heart that God would accept his faith and count it as righteousness.
One). Paul had an experience with Christ in the past. At that time, he considered his own righteousness to be harm.(7)
※ Note that this is Paul's one-time experience.
※ This means that Paul works harder for God than before.
2). Paul had a constant experience of being with Christ. (8)
※ “Here” means an action that continues in the present progressive tense.
※ He must continue to learn all that he can learn about the righteousness and perfection of Jesus Christ.
* This is not a matter of decision, it is a matter of turning around.
* It is deciding to follow Christ and continuing to strive to get to know Him more and more.
3). Paul sought a future experience with Christ (to be found in Christ).(9)
※ Paul looked to the death that was set before him, the death of Christ, and the second coming.
※ When Paul came toward God, he wanted to be found in Christ.
4). Paul sought the experience (power) of victory with Christ. (10)
※ To know Christ is to 1) the power of Christ's resurrection, 2) to share in Christ's sufferings, and 3) to imitate His death.

* Every day he denied himself and took up the cross of Christ. (Luke 9:23)

* He was considered dead to sin and alive to God. (Romans 6:11)
* He killed himself all day. (Romans 8:36)
* He died every day. (1 Corinthians 15:31)
* For Jesus' sake, day by day, always delivered to death. (2 Corinthians 4:11)
* Crucified with Christ. (Ga 2:20)
* He died with Christ. (Col 2:20, 2 Timothy 2:11)
5). Paul followed the eternal experience (resurrection) with Christ. (11)
※ For the sake of reaching the resurrection from the dead, all things, including oneself

※ Perfection is the great goal of believers. God perfects Christians.
(To be perfected so that we may live, worship, and serve for Christ forever.)
※ No one can achieve perfection in this world. This is true for a thoughtful and honest person.
It is taken for granted, and even talking about it seems virtually foolish.
※ Are you intact?
* The human brain and mind use only 0.1% of their mental capacity. not fully used
* The human body grows old, gets sick, dies, and rots. not warm
One). Paul followed the God-given purpose for him, “perfection.” (12)
※ Paul tried to do everything for the Lord's great work of perfecting,
I tried everything to catch up.
2). Paul forgot what was behind (the past). (13)
※ Paul disobeyed God's expectations, and he always confesses how much he lacks. (Romans 7:18-19)
※ Paul concentrates his mind and tries to control his heart and grab hold of what lies before us.
Going forward solved this problem. (Luke 13:24, 1 Corinthians 15:58, Gal 6:9, Col 1:29, Hebrews 12:4, ....)
3). We followed toward the purpose and goal that God called us in Christ. (14)
※ What is the purpose of the calling?
* To be conformed to the image of Christ. He becomes perfect as he is perfect.
4). Paul allowed his heart to continue to grow and mature in Christ. (15)
※ Desire is ① comfort and comfort, ② pleasure and wealth, ③ possessiveness and knowledge, ④ greed and luxury, ⑤ more
※ God gives rest to those who truly believe if their hearts are not in righteousness and purity, in the gospel and in evangelism.
won't allow God is moving our hearts to live according to perfection.

5). Paul continued to maintain the perfection he had already achieved. (16)
※ Paul achieved the perfection of faith: ① devotion and prayer, ② restraint of mind and heart, and ③ training and correcting the body. (Phil 4:9, Romans 8:6, Galatians 5:16, Ephesians 5:15, 1 John 1:7, 2:6)
