text description
Life is a series of encounters and a series of choices.
The shape of tomorrow depends on what you choose.
I hope it will be a time to examine ourselves through Lot's selection in the text.
*The background of Lot's success in Sodom
Genesis 13:12 (“his tents near sodom”) / Genesis 14:12 (“he was living in sodom”) / Genesis 19:1
1. What did worldly success bring to Lot?
2 Peter 2:6-8 “He made the cities of Sodom and Gomorrah destined to be destroyed and turned to ashes, as an example to those who will come after them ungodly, and rescued righteous Lot from suffering because of the immoral conduct of the lawless. dwelt in the midst of it, and day by day seeing and hearing of their unlawful deeds, breaking their righteous spirit
How do you feel about the successful Lot?
That is, it was “injured”.
The Greek word for 'broken' is 'basanizo', which means 'to cause pain or suffering'.
Lot succeeded, but was not happy.
He succeeded by working from dawn to late at night until his fingerprints were worn out, but he had only a deep sense of loneliness and deep recollection that came after success.
2. How has it affected your family?
Genesis 19:12-14 “Then the men said to Lot, “Is there anyone else that belongs to you? sent to destroy this place, and we will destroy it.
Lot went out and told his daughters and his sons-in-law, betrothed to his daughters, saying, “The LORD will destroy this city; get up and leave this place.
When they talked about God's judgment, the sons-in-law took it as a joke.
The spiritual heritage is not passed on.
There was an age of spiritual darkness for 400 years, and that age was the age of judges.
Why did the spiritual dark period take place in the Age of Judges?
Judges 2:10 “And all the people of that generation went back to their ancestors, and the other generations that arose after that did not know the Lord, nor did they know what the Lord had done for Israel.”
The next generation who worships God must come, but another generation who does not know God has come. This was the problem.

3. What did you leave behind?
Moab and Ammon are the tribes that have grabbed Israel's neck at every decisive moment after this Bible.
Lot left this behind.
Galatians 6:7 “Do not deceive yourself, for God is not deceived; whatever a man sows, that he will also reap.”
The saying that whatever you sow you will reap is a terrifying word.
What would you like to leave behind?
What you are planting now is so important.
Abraham is a man who sets many examples for us as the father of faith.
So, what made the lives of Abraham and Lot so different?
Genesis 13:9-10 “Is not the whole land before you? Leave me. If you are left, I will be right; if you are right, I will be left. So Lot lifted up his eyes and looked at the Jordan, and there was plenty of water throughout the land as far as Zoar. Before you destroyed Sodom and Gomorrah, it was like the garden of the LORD, like the land of Egypt.
The expression ‘raise your eyes’ has the meaning of ‘looking into the future’.
Lot was always the one who raised his eyes.
At the crossroads of life, he always became the subject and made the choice.
What about Abraham, on the other hand?
Genesis 13:14 "After Lot had left Abram, the LORD said to Abram, Lift up your eyes and look from where you are, east and west, north and south."
Abraham does not become the subject of his thoughts, philosophy, and experiences, but shows obedience to God's Word.
This is the key to life.
Do I open my eyes, in God's way, in God's time? Is there a figure of obedience on my knees until I open my eyes?
This should be what we are.
