Do ‘miracles’ still exist today?
In conclusion, you have to say ‘yes’.
Non-Christians would of course say yes. They are people who live under the laws of nature. They are used to explaining phenomena based on natural laws. It says that ‘miracles’ exist only because they cannot explain the natural phenomena that appeared in the uncivilized days. Even if there are things that I do not understand now, he says that one day I will be able to explain them.
Christians should say yes. The reason is that Christians live in the world of natural law, but are not bound by that world. We are the people of heaven, people who eat the food of heaven and live according to the laws of heaven. The law of heaven is different from the natural law of the world. The laws of nature cannot comprehend the laws of heaven. Jesus said this in this way: “If I tell you earthly things and you do not believe, how will you believe if I tell you heavenly things?” (John 3:12) When the heavenly law is applied, it is not understood by unbelievers, so perhaps it can be called a 'miracle'. But with the eyes of faith, the miracle will become so natural. In other words, for Christians, ‘miracles’ should not be called ‘miracles’ because ‘miracles’ have become commonplace. For God's people, miracles must happen like a meal. Heavenly events must be experienced daily.
Our Lord Himself showed the reality of “miracles” through his own life. Not only that, but he taught the way for those who believed in him to have the same experience. It is to have fellowship with Almighty God through the language of the people of heaven and to accomplish the work of heaven. In other words, the Lord taught a life of “miracles” through “prayer.”
“Therefore I say to you (to the people of heaven), whatever you ask in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours” (verse 24).
First, ‘whoever’ (verse 23). The language of heaven can be used by any heavenly people. Prayer is not a gift. Just as anyone learns a language and speaks when a new life is born, anyone who has been reborn as a heavenly citizen can pray.
Second, ‘whatever’ (verse 24). He who seeks only what is possible by natural law is foolish. God is omnipotent “in heaven.” We must raise our eyes and look at His hand. The eye of faith is not all-around. When the eyes of faith are fixed on the hand of God, we become convinced of the prayer, “Call the mountains, and cast them into the sea” (verse 23), and you come to know that this is by no means a ‘miracle’.
It is 'only faith' that the language of 'prayer' becomes 'miracle'.
“If you do not doubt in your heart, believing that what he says will come true, it will be for you, and it will be done for you” (verse 24). Those who pray must believe and be sure that their prayers will come true. You are the people of heaven and you must unwaveringly believe in what God will lead and do. In this belief, “miracles” will become part of our daily life. Do you have any prayer topics? Do your prayers come true as a 'miracle'? Have faith. Be sure you will achieve it. A ‘miracle’ will soon become a part of your daily life. -Amen-
