Titles 6 through 10
Exodus (54) 6 to 10 commandments
(Exodus 20:13-17)
1. Six Commandments - Thou shalt not murder
Since man is created in God's image, killing a person is a challenge to God's sovereignty and an act of destroying God's image. Of course, this order also prohibits suicide. No matter how difficult life is, it is a billion times better than hell. Therefore, in any difficult situation, we must live until God calls us. Also, do not despair under any circumstances, because this commandment, if interpreted on a higher level, also forbids despair, the cause of death.
Jesus extended this commandment in his Sermon on the Mount. That is why he said that if you curse a brother as a fool, you will be thrown into the fire of hell (Matthew 5:22). The meek Jesus wrote such extreme words because the problem is so serious. Cursing a brother destroys human relationships and even God's relationship. To ridicule the poor is to insult God who made him (Proverbs 17:5). God considers what we do to our neighbor as what we do to God. So don't insult your neighbors.
2. Seven Commandments - Thou shalt not commit adultery
The important message behind this commandment is: “Treasure your home!” God ordained monogamy, in which one man and one woman are one flesh (Genesis 2:21-25). Adultery outside of marital life that destroys such a sacred union is a serious offense that blasphemes beyond a simple sexual offense.
In particular, Jesus extended this commandment in the Sermon on the Mount, saying that even if he looked at a woman and had lust for her, he sinned against her in his heart (Matthew 5:27-28). Is it lust to have a crush on a pretty woman or a handsome man? Then, refrain from going out and watch TV or movies. The saying not to have lust does not mean to completely turn away from wonderful people, but rather not to use others as objects to satisfy desires. To instrumentalize others is to blaspheme the image of God.
3. 8 Commandments - Thou shalt not steal
The concept of stealing varies. In addition to stealing directly, the act of causing damage to the property of others through negligence or negligence is also stealing. Also, stealing skills, knowledge, information, etc. is stealing, and breaking other people's time by breaking promises or negligence while working for money is time theft. Stealing someone's lover or bribing someone else's worker is also stealing in a big sense.
Above all, stealing is not only stealing other people's property in secret, but stealing by fraudulently accumulating wealth without blood and sweat, and unclean material relations within the church is also stealing. People with complicated material things in the church will someday leave. Therefore, if you want to keep this commandment, actively practice sharing and make it your body. Earn a lot and share a lot. The more you pour the spring water, the better the water comes out. If you block the water too wasteful, the water source is also blocked.
4. The 9th Commandment - Thou shalt not lie
There are good lies, but you have to be careful with them too. If you keep telling good lies, lies will become your constitution. Satan is the father of lies. Realize that fact and stay away from lies as much as possible. Especially in the Bible, perjury is considered an even greater sin. Because it can cause serious harm to the other person and even take their life. The Mosaic Law stipulates that if a person's testimony proves false, the perjury bears the penalty for the accused (Deut. 19:15-21).
All the people who met Jesus’ words were changed amazingly. Simon the Reed became Peter, the rock. Mary Magdalene, the prostitute, became a saint. That is the power of the word. In particular, when you give up lies and your heart becomes pure and calm, a fountain of joy springs up. Always be a sincere Christian. True people seem to lose money, but the lies will eventually come out, and the truthful people will eventually succeed.
5. Ten Commandments - Do not covet
Covetousness is idolatry (Colossians 3:5). Covetousness is also the source of sin. This is what James 1:14-15 says. “But each man is tempted, being drawn away and deceived by his own lust, and when lust has conceived, it gives birth to sin; and sin, when it is full-grown, brings forth death.”
Covetousness is like idolatry as evidence that you love something more than God. Therefore, this commandment is the highest commandment to be wary of, emphasizing that we must manage our minds and thoughts better than specific actions. This commandment shows that the Mosaic Law is a higher law of divine origin, far higher than any other ancient law code. When you see blessings and your descendants prosper, there is a reason. The number one cause is sharing that overcomes greed.
