<The Reason You Don't Believe in the Lord>
Why do people not believe in the Lord? First, it is because they do not seek eternal life (verse 40). The most important purpose of faith is to receive eternal life by receiving the Lord and to live a life in heaven on this earth with the power of eternal life. However, people are usually more interested in the temporary blessings in front of them than in eternal life. If you are more interested in the blessings in front of you like that, you will be skeptical of your faith when you do not have those blessings.
Second, it is because they do not love God (verse 42). Love is thinking about what you love. Ultimately, loving God means focusing on God and thinking mainly about God. However, people with weak faith usually focus their life of faith on themselves. Only when the focus shifts from self to the Lord becomes true faith.
Third, because they seek their own glory (verse 44). The most important thing to watch out for in your life of faith is to seek your own glory. Why do so many problems and conflicts arise in human relationships? Because they are seeking their own glory. No matter how loyal you are to God and no matter how amazing miracles happen through you, you should always say, “I am a useless servant.”
Fourth, it is because we do not believe in the words of the Bible (verses 45-47). The closer we get to the Word, the closer we get to the Lord and our faith is strengthened. Also, if you draw close to the Word, your personality, faith, and character will become right. A person with a tattered Bible is usually not a tattered person, and a person with a Bible that has been read a lot is usually not a mess.
< Savor the Word >
If you draw close to the Word, you can protect your soul, become the main character of change, and receive blessings and happiness through countless wisdom and useful information. Why don't many people today keep close to the Word? Because when you stand in front of the Word, your humbleness is revealed. So I like words of comfort, but hate words of reproof. If you feel burdened with the Word, God also considers the soul burdensome. The soul stops growing when it hears only pleasant sounds. To grow, you need to be able to break your heart and listen to even sounds that are sometimes difficult to hear.
There are times in my life when I encounter barriers, and there are times when I feel like God has turned away from me. But that's not necessarily a bad thing. On the other hand, not all types of pain are good. Growth and blessings do not come easily. Don't try to go only on the flower road. To enjoy true spiritual freedom and become a mature soul, try sometimes to take the desert road. In order to become a particularly mature soul, you must also bear the pain of breaking yourself through the Word.
Even now, God speaks in various ways through nature, history, and problems. You must know how to listen to such words, especially the Bible and Bible-centered words. The Word is the food of the soul. When you meditate on the Word quietly, the taste and flavor of the Word give vitality to your heart and soul. And I can feel the living Lord through the Word, and when I work in me through the Word, I feel as if the Lord is working in me.
When a person named Lee Gong receives grace while reading the Bible, he constantly exclaims with exclamation and seems to be having a conversation with the Lord, so the people outside the door thought someone else was inside. As he looked at the Bible, he constantly said, “Aha! i See! That's right! Yes! I see.” I looked at the Bible with repeated exclamations. When you listen to the Word as if you were sitting face to face with God and listening to the words of the living God, your soul becomes an invincible soul that can overcome any hardships and problems.
Read the Bible a lot and have faith deeply rooted in the Word. Sometimes people who don't read the Bible sarcastically talk about people who read the Bible. “‘That person is living a religious life too rationally!” Don't be swayed by that sound. The ‘worldly rational attitude’ and the ‘reasonable religious life’ are completely different. Use your God-given reason to diligently search the Bible, enjoy abundant freedom of soul by savoring the Word, and become blessed spirits who change the world with the truth.
