Who comes to mind as an “active person” in the Bible?

In Luke 19, a Jericho publican named Zacchaeus appears. As a local tax collector, he collected huge amounts of tax and became rich by illicitly hoarding. His soul felt lonely, life lost its worth, and he lived a meaningless life amid doubts and boredom. In the meantime, I want to meet Jesus who calls for repentance and preaches the gospel of the kingdom.

I wanted to talk with my heart about the frustrations I couldn't talk about, even if I saw a face on the way, and opened it to the world hidden inside me. But the unbelievable happens. Jesus looks at me and says he will go to my house.

It was because of Zacchaeus' activeness that Zacchaeus was able to meet Jesus and show all of himself and receive comfort and healing.

He sits down pessimistically about his situation, but instead of stalking people, he goes up to the mulberry tree, forgetting his age, status, honor, and prestige.

Zacchaeus was also active in accepting the gospel. Luke 19:8 “Look, Lord, I will give half of what I have to the poor, and if I have extorted anyone, I will repay you fourfold.

Discover the opportunity of salvation and show yourself in front of the gospel with an active attitude from a passive attitude that only waits from afar or someone will solve it.

You cannot grow by sitting in the back. Be positive when you believe in Jesus,

Come early to the Sunday service and prepare in prayer, do your best to attend all public meetings, pray fervently, seek out service, and do your best without sparing your efforts, believing that the person serving is the greatest in the church.

In verse 13 in the text, when he said, “See Saul again,” he immediately looked at him. When Peter raised the lame at the temple gate, and when Jesus healed a woman with hemophilia for 12 years, he commanded them to be healed with the word.

However, there is one more thing to be aware of, and all verbs used are active verbs.

In other words, it can be seen that although they were healed by the Word, they themselves were active in solving the problem. When you say “Look”, you must try to see yourself. When you say “walk,” you have to try to walk yourself. When you say, “Be healthy,” you should try to be healthy yourself.

When they actively approach the problem with faith, the problem is solved.

The life of faith is not replaced by anyone. It is a 1:1 relationship with God.
