Subject Requirement for answered prayers/James 4:1
Contents 1993.10.31 Evening about 4:1 Requirement for answered prayers
One day, my youngest son, as a father, begged me to buy him a bike. I thought that I should buy a bicycle for my son, who has been harassing me several times. However, he did not answer that he would buy it, pretending not to know because he knew that he should not buy it immediately for education. It was because his father had the idea that he would realize the more precious value only if he waited eagerly for it. Perhaps the son had given up because he was exhausted, and from the next day he did not hesitate and did not speak quietly. So it's been several months and until today, Dad hasn't bought his son a new bike. I sometimes say this to my son. If you please your father, won't he grant you your request? However, it is not the first time or two that I feel sorry for my son who doesn't do his father's will, whether he knows this kind of heart or not.
There are very few people who have never prayed in their life. Everyone prays when faced with extreme situations in life.
However, most prayers are not answered because they do not have the conditions to receive answers.
(Main subject)
1. Repentance as the first condition
1) To be saved... Repentance is the prerequisite for salvation. Repentance is a prerequisite for receiving grace. Without repentance, you cannot have a relationship with God.
In Acts 2:37, while listening to Peter's sermon (Acts 2:38), see Peter saying, "Repent and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins, and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit." It's possible. Repent and be baptized, and then you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. The bowl must be clean to receive the gift.
2) To stand in the will of God
(1) Prayer does not change God's will, it changes my will...Many people keep asking God to change. As I said before, I must repent and become a person worthy of God's will. I'm not changed and I'm dirty, so what if I tell God to change?
(2) Do not try to use God, but be broken before God. When I am broken, God has to hold me in the hand of creation and let me use it.
2. Entrusted... When Paul was imprisoned in Philippi, 1) The drowning man and the rescuer..
2) Just as a patient commits himself to a doctor (1 Peter 5:7) Cast all your anxieties on the Lord, for he counsels you.
There aren't many people who say that the patient should see the patient here, do the operation here. When I have major surgery, I even write a memorandum that I will not be held responsible even if I die.
3) When we pray deeply, the Holy Spirit helps us to entrust it.
4) Those who have entrusted them should now give thanks in everything. You can see that Paul and Silas sang thanksgiving.
3. A bold confession
1) Confession of God's work (Proverbs 3:5-6). (Proverbs 3:5) Trust in the Lord with all your heart and do not lean on your own understanding (Proverbs 3:6). and he will guide you along the way.
2) Strengthening one's faith: The relationship between speech and character formation
3) Confound the devil: you will know the truth and the truth will set you free (the devil’s lies are exposed in a hundred days).
4. Endure
1) The truth and lies are revealed through patience, true love through perseverance, true faith through perseverance, and true hope through perseverance.
2) An impatient mind is a mind of distrust. Look at the refinements of the ancestors of the faith.
(Conclusion): God communicates with us through prayer. Prayer is a conversation with God. Prayer is working with God. Prayer is the fight against the devil.
