Take the Power of the Word

Contents

Canaan is the covenant land promised to Israel, and God commanded them to possess this land and commanded them to “go” to this place. However, there was the first obstacle, the Jordan River, which the Israelites had to cross in order to enter the land of Canaan. The Jordan River always overflowed with water up to the hills at the time of the wheat harvest, so it was a big problem for Israel. God told them to go forward through the wall of reality they faced and cross the river. How did you cross this river?

First, come to the word of God to cross this river.

As Joshua looked at the Jordan River, he was not afraid and did not give in to problems. I knew that getting God's guidance in crossing the Jordan is the true secret to solving problems. In verses 3-4, Joshua had the priests carry the ark of the covenant and made them stand before the people. The ark of the covenant, symbolizing the presence of God, contained two tables of stone with the commandments written on it. He showed that the Ark of the Covenant would lead Israel into a new land with the word of God. Holding on to the word of God was the only secret to overcoming difficulties. It was made to fall 2000 cubits so that all the people could stand before the word of God. “Then I will tell you the way you should go.” If you look at the ark of the covenant carried by the priests, focus on the ark and follow it, you will see the way to solve problems and how to proceed. We, too, should focus on the Word of God, not the problems. Even if circumstances and circumstances are considered important, in the end, God's people move forward with God's help when they look to God and listen to God's words.

Second, have God's Word in your heart to cross this river.

The book of Joshua shows how to take Canaan and how to prosper in Canaan. The Bible says that the path to success is experienced when God is with us and when we hold on to the word of God, like Joseph. Joshua 1:8 says that if you keep the word of God in your heart, imprint it on your soul, and keep it, you will pass a smooth and prosperous road. God is the Word (John 1:1). So, embracing the Word means relying on God and walking with God. On the other hand, leaving the Word is the same as turning away from God and departing from Him. Therefore, Joshua, who was close to the Word, walked with God. If we embrace the Word, meditate on it, and drink it, we will enjoy the mystery of the Word that Joshua experienced. The door to life is opened, and new opportunities are given. Have the Word in your heart so that the Word of God can rule and guide you.

Third, believe and obey God's Word to cross this river.

The Jordan River was eventually crossed by those who believed and obeyed God's Word. The priests carrying the Ark of the Covenant did not enter when they saw the water receding. He believed the word of God through Joshua and obeyed it. Then the Jordan waters that flowed down from above were cut off and piled up in one place, and an amazing thing happened. God, the owner of all the earth, also claims nature according to his will. People's hearts are moved. When we begin to obey God's Word, the Jordan River begins to open. Things that you think are impossible will be opened the moment you obey God. Miracles always happen through obedience. When we believe in the Word and begin to take our first step, we experience the work of God. Below the Jordan River, the priests overcame the weight on their shoulders and held on. Blessings come to the community when we move forward in obedience to God's Word.

Let's hold on to the word of God and take the power of the word.

Psalm 119:165 “Great peace are with those who love your law, and there will be no obstacle for them.”
