Evangelism itself is a blessing. (Matthew 28:16-20)
There is a heavenly mandate given to Christians. It's not that you can do it or you can't do it, but there are things that Christians must do. It's just evangelism. People are really embarrassed by this word, and they are very uncomfortable. They just want to live a comfortable life of faith. However, this is initially impossible.
It is useless and foolish to see believers who have to take up our cross and follow the Lord and expect comfort. He will appear before God and before Christ Jesus, who will judge the living and the dead, and concerning his kingdom, the solemn commandment is to “preach.”
There is no specific time for the gospel to be preached. Regardless of whether the other party is listening or not, we must preach the gospel we have received as a separate issue regardless of the current mood.
It is our duty to ‘reprove, rebuke, and exhort, in season and out of season, always in all things with longsuffering and teaching.
A duty is something that must be done, and there is only one way for a person who disobeys the duty is punishment.
Even if we diligently preach the gospel according to these words, the world will close their ears and not listen. However, we must be careful in all things, endure hardships, and fulfill our duties as evangelists.
The crown of righteousness is reserved for those who have taken on this task. It is said that there is a blessing from heaven that everyone who yearns for the Lord's appearing will receive.
The salvation of souls is the will of God. We know that the reason Jesus called disciples and trained them was to save one soul to the Father. He also loved a person, loving him to the point of death, and that death opened up a relationship with God that had been closed.
However, no matter how many teachings they received, the disciples did not become evangelists. Rather, he hid from those who doubted and feared the power of the gospel and rejected the truth of the gospel. However, their helpless appearance ended with the work of the Holy Spirit of Pentecost that came to Mark's upper room.
After the resurrection and ascension of Jesus, the disciples gathered in one place and concentrated on praying until they received the Holy Spirit. And after the experience of the Holy Spirit on the day of Pentecost, those who had been hiding turned into evangelists and proclaimed to the world that Jesus is Lord, the Son and Christ of the living God.
The most important thing for evangelists is the experience of the Holy Spirit. However, the only way to receive this filling of the Holy Spirit is not to have faith in your heart.
Even now, when you confess Christ with your lips and sit on the throne of the people of heaven, you cannot become an evangelist.
It is only through the filling of the Holy Spirit that one can become an evangelist who preaches the truth of salvation, Jesus.
Then how can we receive this Holy Spirit? The people of the early church devoted themselves only to prayer until they received the Holy Spirit.
There are a lot of worship services and a lot of busy life, but these people are saying that they put all their energies into prayer. Nothing can get ahead of this. Nothing is more important than praying and receiving the Holy Spirit.
There is nothing more important than a believer being filled with the Holy Spirit and thus becoming an evangelist.
Becoming a witness of the gospel is not a directive given only to a particular class of people. As he ascended into heaven, he said to all who were present there: “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you, and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.”
Dear saints who wish to fulfill the will of the Lord! When you pray, pray for the presence of the Holy Spirit! Please pray that His Spirit (Acts 2:3) will come upon us, which are split like tongues of fire.
Putting all other things next, I hope and pray in the name of the Lord that I can do the Lord's will (evangelism) in the fullness of the Holy Spirit by making an effort to pray.
Evangelism is the desire of Jesus. Jesus is the one who searches until he finds a sheep that is lost. He said that when a soul returns to the Lord, there will be a feast in heaven.
For this work of evangelism, there are things that humans can do, and there are things that saved believers must do.
The act of evangelism itself is called a blessing. Even if the other person does not accept the Gospel, even if they do not follow us as evangelists, even if they laugh at us because of this, this is a blessing.
Blessed are those who are persecuted for the sake of righteousness. Persecution for the sake of righteousness is the gateway to the wonderful blessing of possessing the kingdom of heaven (Matthew 5:10).
And evangelism should be very simple. If you get caught up in the results of evangelism, you cannot have joy through this work.
Due to the burden of the heart, it is possible to commit the mistake of making the evangelist rather uncomfortable. The result is God's work, and we have to have a heart of peace that we just preach what we are commanded to do.
Just say, “Go to church.” “Our Hanwoori Church is a very good church.” If you boast and exhort, “You have to believe in Jesus to go to heaven,” it can be enough evangelism.
You have to do this continuously. You cannot be satisfied with the first drink, and a beautiful house cannot be built with a single shovel or a single stone placed on the wall.
Now, even if that person hears the gospel and does not come to church, the soul can be saved only when the person fills a large vessel (a person's heart) with water (the Holy Spirit) and repeats evangelism.
Some people mistakenly think that evangelism requires giving up daily life to some extent.
Really? First, let's think about the commute to and from school. There are always people around at that time. There are people I meet close to, and acquaintances who eat together.
Why are we not able to preach the gospel to these people while evangelism is difficult?
Is it possible that there is a feeling of shame about the gospel or negative thoughts such as, ‘No way for that person!’?
I hope that I will be able to shake off all these things and share the inexhaustible love of Jesus to the one person I meet today.
You must be able to make generous investments in evangelism targets. We serve the evangelist through gifts or delicious food, and through this, the door of the other person's heart can be opened. And remember that good investments are guaranteed to be repaid by God.
There is a book that says praise makes even whales dance. It is said that even a whale, a mere beast, can be the star of a great show through praise.
A daughter-in-law with good faith was living under constant persecution by her mother-in-law who did not believe in Jesus.
However, I prayed with tears for my mother-in-law's soul and was especially comforted by singing hymn 395.
Then one day, the members of the church went to evangelize together with my mother-in-law.
"Grandmother. Believe in Jesus and come to church. Your daughter-in-law is praying for you with tears."
"Heh! It's all trembling. When I went to pray, I followed him secretly, but he only sings a song about defeating this mother-in-law."
Astonished, one of the butlers asked.
"What song was it?"
"Hey, what do you say...
"Don't commit a crime because you're mother-in-law, and always fight back with courage.
