The title problem is the best assignment

The question of Judges (5) is the best task (Judges 1:27-36)

< Throw away even the appearance of evil >

The text depicts the situation where the tribes of Manasseh, Ephraim, Zebulun, Asher, Naphtali, and Dan failed to conquer Canaan and were mixed with the Canaanite natives. It is understandable that they could not drive out the Canaanites when they were weak, but even after they became strong, they did not drive out all of them to feed the Canaanites (verse 28). The sense of duty is submerged in selfishness. Using the Canaanites' labor force seems to be beneficial on the surface, but in the end, they fell into idolatry due to the influence of the Canaanites and suffered various kinds of suffering.

Ultimately, the work of conquest of Canaan can be said to be a failure in the overall sense. Because that failure resulted in a mix with the natives, and eventually fell into the sin of idolatry. The reason God commanded the annihilation of Canaan was because he was concerned about such a situation. This order still applies today. In other words, when we cast away all appearances of evil, suffering from sin and suffering can be reduced and the blessings of tomorrow can be given (Colossians 3:5,6; 1 Thessalonians 5:22).

Why can't people stop evil even though they know the consequences of it? Mostly because of selfishness. Selfishness weakens the power of good and leads to evil. The wicked often stumble at their feet, and often fall into the trap they have dug to drown others. When the wicked seem successful, their downfall comes like a thief. Even monkeys sometimes step on my tail and fall. No matter how clever you are, if you follow selfishness, you will surely stumble.

Of course, giving up even the appearance of evil and doing good does not mean that you will prosper in everything you do. Doing good will not remove difficulties, but do not be discouraged. Because God will surely remember those good deeds. What could be more blissful than doing something that will remain in God's memory and becoming a person who will remain in God's memory? Just as diligently reading the menu doesn't make you full, a faith that overflows with good words without good deeds is not a blessed faith. Always sparing your words and striving to do good.

< The problem is the best task >

As such, the work of conquest of Canaan was not fully completed and remained an unsolved task, eventually placing a burden on Israel from generation to generation. So, in the time of the Judges, a situation under the control of the Canaanites arose, and the conflict in Palestine continued to this day. It is unfortunate that such unresolved issues remain, but such unresolved crises can also be turned into opportunities for blessing.

What is important is whether or not to trust God until the end, rather than the unresolved task, whether or not there is a problem. Sometimes, even if you have a good life of faith, problems may still remain. However, even then, if you still trust God and look to God, you will find the good will of God who left the problem in time.

During the war of conquest of Canaan during Joshua's time, Israel subdued the 31 kings of Canaan. But the powerful Bezek remained. After that, Bezek became like a thorn in the eye. However, I later found out that the reason Bezek remained was because of God's good will. In other words, when Joshua died and Israel faced a crisis of a leadership vacuum, they used Bezek as an opportunity to wisely escape from the crisis of transition.

Even though he conquered Bezek and almost all of Canaan, he did not conquer Jerusalem, where the Jebusites lived for about 400 years after that. Jerusalem was more like a thorn in the eye than Bezek. But later, it was because of God's good will that Jerusalem remained. In other words, as David became king of Israel, he waged a war with the Jebusites to strengthen his kingship and national power, and eventually won the war, and was able to use it as an opportunity to strengthen his leadership and strengthen his national power.

All the problems that still remain in life were left behind because of God's good will. The day will come when you will realize that you have left the problem with you in the process of overcoming it to bring you countless benefits. In such a belief, crises can be the best opportunities and problems can be the best challenges. Therefore, in the midst of problems, trust in God's good will and become the blessed souls who finally win with faith that does not retreat.
