He allowed it (1 Chronicles 4:9-10) Men's Missionary Church Breakfast Prayer Meeting (2003.01.03)

Jabez was more honorable than his brothers, and his mother named him Jabez, because it was because I gave birth to him. Jabez said to the God of Israel, “I pray that you will bless me and enlarge my borders, and help me with your hand. May I be free from tribulation and worry free, but God allowed him to ask for it (1 Chronicles 4:9-10).

Hallelujah! Everyone, please greet the people next to you by saying, "Thank you for meeting us on the first Sunday of the new year. I hope to see you every Sunday this year." Some of those who worshiped with us in 2002 didn't make it through 2003. But we are in 2003. God has given us another chance to live. We have already been blessed in 2003. I wish you a blessed 2003 life full of grace and peace.

In today's text, a man named "Jabez" appears. He was the one who was said to be "the noble one." The word "honor" means , that is, a high and noble person (v. 9). There is no explanation in the Bible of how old Jabez lived, what he did, or what family he was from. It is important, however, that he was a "honorable one." To all worshipers today, I pray that you and your children will live a victorious life in which you hear the voice of "noble one".

In 1 Chronicles 4:10, we find the prayer of Jabez. Jabez's prayer was brief, but he offered a prayer of great content. Jabez's prayer consists of five prayers: [① Add blessings to blessings ② Enlarge the borders ③ Help us with your hand ④ Get out of trouble ⑤ Let us have no worries.] In these five prayers, humans cannot ask God. Everything that is there is included.

If we look at the prayer of Jabez, we can see that Jabez is a man of ambition.

Jabez was a man of ambition. In other words, Jabez was a man with a burning wish. Jabez's wish was in accordance with God's will. God doesn't listen to false prayers. He does not listen to the prayers of desire, the prayers to satisfy one's own desires. They only think about their own desires and do not listen to prayers that harm others. He even said that he did not listen to prayers that were not reconciled to his brother. But Jabez's prayer was answered. It was because Jabez's prayer was something God could answer.

Jabez had ambitions for good fortune.

"Ambition" is not just a dream. Ambition is not just a wish. Ambition means 'a fountain overflowing with hope'. "My fraction, all I can do, all I can enjoy" is to say to God, "God, I want something bigger. I want to run farther, I want to be able to do more." It is my ambition to be able to pray.

The pastor prayed, "God, give me the ability to do what God wants me to do, not to do it according to my abilities."

A “dream” should be something you can be satisfied with, something your family can rejoice and boast about, something that not only benefits others but also brings glory to God. Prayer is that person's level. If you want to know the level of that person, you can know it by listening to the prayer. God allows as much as we pray. It can be as big as you pray. When you change your prayers, you change your life. Dreams are different.

- "God, I have this ambition. I know that my abilities are not enough. I know it is difficult. But if you allow me, I will give glory to God. If God allows me, I will live with thanks. ), I will live by distinguishing what belongs to God. God allow it. If God allows it, I will use it as a tool of evangelism."

I hope that you too will pray with dreams and ambitions filled with ambition. May you have ambitions for happiness. Please pray for yourself as well as the young as the young and the old as the old, “God, grant this to my generation or to my descendants.” A lot of people say rudely about their children, "He's wrong." Who's going to conclude that you're wrong? Do you know your child's future? Can you take responsibility for your future? Even if you have a child who is heartbroken right now, you should pray to God with ambition.

Jabez had ambitions for the realm.

In addition to ambitions for blessings, Jabez also had ambitions for the realm. The word "territory" refers to the border of land, territory, scope of activity, scope of work, and stage of activity. Jabez's prayer, "Enlarge the boundaries" means, "Enlarge the territory. Expand the land. Expand the scope of activity. Make the stage of activity broaden. Let more work." It is important to be grateful and content with the little things. But wouldn't it be more grateful if we glorify God by doing more work in a larger area, in a wider area?

I have a dream of doing bigger and more things at Yeongam Church as it is now. Even the present Yeongam Church does not know how many years of prayer, how many dreams, and how many pictures they have painted. When we dreamed and prayed, God gave us permission. When you dream a dream that is in harmony with God's heart, God responds. Yeongam Church also had many years of dreaming, praying, and painting. When it is a dream that is in harmony with God's heart, we believe that God will answer it.

Jabez had confidence in God's help.

Jabez not only had ambitions for blessings, ambitions for the realm, but also had confidence in God's help. And I prayed that confident prayer. Of course, God's will is different from our thoughts. It is not our judgment. God is doing His will. But God hears the prayers of those who seek in the will of God. you help you hold on

To be in God's help, to experience God's grace... First, you must live a life of faith that is pleasing to God. Please think for a moment. Did you really live a life of faith that God can help? Are you living a life of faith that will support you and respond to you? Did you fully celebrate Sunday? Did you value worship? Did you separate the things of God? Are you thankful for everything? Did you live a life of evangelizing with the fragrance of Jesus in season or out of season? So, did you live enough to proudly shout, "God, I've lived like this. Why won't you?" We do not receive God's help because we do not live after God's heart.

A fish that flows as a river flows is a dead fish. Live fish don't flow with water. A live fish rather moves up the water. The life of faith is confronted with reality. From the beginning of believing in Jesus, family, reality, tradition, habits… and so on, encountering everything. However, please believe that those who overcome those obstacles can stand in a position where they are praised by God as those after God's own heart.

Jabez - He believed in the living God (verse 10).

As Hebrews 11:6 says, we must believe that those who come to God “must believe that He is.”

Jabez - He believed in God who blesses him (verse 10).

As Hebrews 11:6 says, "You must believe that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him." Please believe in God who blesses you.

Jabez - He believed in God who helped him (verse 10).

In every corner of the Bible, there is an expression “God sustains”. Psalm 73:23 says, “I am with you always; you have taken hold of my right hand.” Isaiah 41:10 says, “Do not fear, for I am with you. God has promised to be with us.

Dear brothers and sisters, I ask you to follow through with faith for a victorious life. - "Blessing ○○○, - "Enlarge the realm of ○○○, - "Help ○○○ with your hand, so that he will be free from tribulation and worry."

Just as your confession, “God, God has granted you all”, as the prayer of Jabez was answered as 2003 nears the end of the year, I pray that your life will be a life of victory in the Lord in all things.

Almighty God! Thank you for the grace and love. On this holy Sunday morning, on the first Sunday morning of 2003, I ask God. We ask for the lack of servants toward the saints. Answer their burning prayers to their ambitions. Allow yourself to confess, “God allowed it,” and let others do it too. Father God, help me to pray like Jabez, not someone who hears the voice of Jabez's prayer, and live a life that conforms to your heart like Jabez. In the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, we pray. Amen.
