The Forgiving God / Ephesians 2:10
The forgiving God / Ephesians 2:10
“For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them” (Ephesians 2:10).
The book 'Great Inventions of the Last 2000 Years' by John Brokeman lists 121 great inventions chosen by 110 of the world's intellectuals. But one strange thing is the fact that there is an eraser in it. Human civilization was able to advance because the eraser was free to correct human mistakes. The drawings or sketches of great artists, or the masterpieces of poets and musicians, would not have been born if they could not be corrected with an eraser.
If 'righteousness' is judged only by the perfect morality or action of human beings, mankind will have no choice but to live incompletely from mistakes. However, because of God's 'eraser called the grace of forgiveness', we can become a life of perfection. There are many disappointing stories in the Bible as well as stories of holy and perfect people. However, the reason they give grace and emotion is because behind them there are traces erased with an eraser called God's infinite forgiveness.
It is not their perfection that makes characters like David and Moses so flawed and erring in their greatness. This is because they are the people who have tasted the grace of God called 'forgiveness' the most. As the text says, the reason we can become his 'masterpiece', that is, a masterpiece, is because our lives, full of mistakes and loopholes, are recognized as righteous before God by being erased, rewritten, and corrected by the grace of forgiveness.
With the forgiveness of Christ, who declared that all sins are forgiven, our past mistakes are completely erased. Now we are the grace of the Lord's infinite 'eraser'. Let's no longer dwell on the past. Trust that it can be completely erased by the grace of the Lord's forgiveness.
