The Lord Who Enriches John 10:7-15

Jesus came to this world so that our saints might have life and live an abundant life. So, anyone who looks to Jesus can overcome despair and live a life of victory. If so, let's think about what kind of faith we must lead in order to receive the grace of the Lord who enriches us.

First, we can receive abundant grace by dwelling in Jesus, who is the gate of the sheep.

Second, we must love the Lord, the Good Shepherd, to receive abundant grace.

Jesus, the Good Shepherd, knows us all too well and helps us. There are many nomads in Israel. At that time, it was common sense for shepherds to protect their livestock by risking their lives. Verse 11 says, “I am the good shepherd, and the good shepherd lays down his life for the sheep.” As the Good Shepherd, the Lord knows each of us by name. He knows not only his name, but also his character, and he knows his weaknesses and weaknesses. When we sometimes stumble and fall because of the pressures of injustice in the world, the temptations of sin, and the problems of life, He does not give up but holds us up, comforts us, and loves us to the end. Even the Good Shepherd loved us to the point of death. God sent the Lord for our salvation, and the Lord loved Him even by giving His life on the cross to give us the forgiveness of our sins and eternal life, so we ought to love the Lord. We should boast and testify to the Lord who gave us life.

Third, we can live abundantly when we follow the Lord, the Gate of the sheep and the Good Shepherd.

The good shepherd is sacrificial and active enough to lay down his life for the sheep. Jesus, the Good Shepherd, died on the cross to forgive our sins. Jesus did not end with his death on the cross, but overcame death, rose from the dead, and ascended to heaven to give us abundant life. When we accept and follow Jesus, the Good Shepherd, works of blessing not only occur for individuals but also for nations and peoples who believe in Jesus.

So, what does it mean for us to have good faith in Jesus? It means living in complete obedience to the Word. Matthew 4:4 says, “Man shall not live on bread alone, but on every word that proceeds from the mouth of God”. That's right. Man does not live by bread alone, but by eating the word of God, which is the food of the spirit.

Dear brothers and sisters, please remember that our Lord came to this earth and took up the cross so that we might have life and have it more abundantly. I pray in the name of the Lord that you will live a richly blessed life by believing in and relying on our Lord, the gate of this sheep, the Good Shepherd, and obedience to His Word. Amen.
