The Method of Sanctification (Hebrews 10:23-25)
Content 1. Meaning of friendship
1) <Metoke>-It mainly refers to fellowship with God.
<Koinonia> - refers to the relationship between people.
2) "Koinonia" is an important concept as the three elements of the church's function, along with "kerygma" (proclaiming the Word) and "diakonia" (service).
3) Koinonia is a process in which people with a common purpose participate together.
This purpose is achieved by encouraging, loving, and working in unity with all who participate in the meeting.
2. Necessity of fellowship in the Bible 1) We must look after each other and encourage and encourage love and good deeds (Hebrews 10:24-25).
2) Fellowship plays an indispensable role for the spiritual development of Christians.
(1) exhortation (Hebrews 3:13, 10:25) (2) edification (1 Corinthians 14:26)
(3) Observance of the Lord's Supper (Acts 20:7) (4) Meditating on the Word of God (Colossians 4:16) (5) witnessing to the unsaved (Romans 10:14-15), etc.
3. Elements to be equipped in communion 1) Fellowship with God is a prerequisite for being born again. When a believer is born again and can have fellowship with God, he can obtain the fruits of <salvation> (Jude 1:3) and <faith> (Titus 1:4).
2) Believers are called to fellowship with Christ (1 Corinthians 1:9), and at the same time must have fellowship with the Holy Spirit. Fellowship with the Holy Spirit is the gateway to receiving new power and the way of blessing.
3) The Lord commanded communion among believers just as he loved humans, and this is accomplished by loving one another (John 13:34). This communion between believers can be achieved when they maintain a right relationship with God (1 John 1:3,6), and true communion continues on earth and takes place in heaven.
4) By living a communion life that is acceptable in the sight of God, believers can promote their own sanctification and at the same time help others sanctify. This is the most desirable communion.
