The overflowing water of life (Ezekiel 47:1-12)
Content Interest in water is growing more than ever. because of environmental pollution. Tap water was not trusted, and as a result, every household started to use bottled water as drinking water. However, the price of this bottled water is not common. It was literally the same as the price of oil. But the truth is that living water cannot be trusted. As soon as it is pulled up from the basement, it is fine, but over time it becomes contaminated by various bacteria. But here is eternal living water. There is no fear of contamination. No need to worry about the price. Everything is free. what kind of water
1. It became a great river (1-5).
It was living water that gushed out of the temple. It was springing up from under the threshold of the temple. A threshold is a door frame. This water formed a stream and continued to flow eastward from the right side of the altar. This stream of water started gushing up again from the right side of the outer east gate. When I measured the depth of 1,000 ja (300M) in this stream, it was submerged up to the ankle of a person. The place where 2,000 characters reached the knee. And the depth at the point where it became 3,000 was worn down to the waist of a person. Finally, the depth of the 4,000-character point was deep enough that I had to swim.
The history of Christianity has a very small beginning. It was a really weak start. But now, Christianity has expanded to such an extent that every corner of the world is untouched. The stream of Christianity that started in Jerusalem is swallowing up the Korean River. It is not a flood that is swallowed up by horses, but is covering rivers and mountains with the gospel that gives hope to the nation. The gospel conquers everything. So the gospel is power and strength. Just as a river wets and submerges the earth, so the gospel extends forward.
However, the river always flows downwards. So is the gospel. It is always flowing to a place where we humble ourselves before the gospel. It cannot flow to high places. It must be in a low place. If I humble myself and long for the gospel, the Lord locks me in.
2. It provided life (6-12).
Wherever the water touched, a change of life took place. There were many trees growing on the hillside of the river. Because they get their life from water. The river flowed and flowed all the way to the Dead Sea. The Dead Sea is a place where all water is received and cannot be sent out, so it becomes salt. The Dead Sea is the saltiest sea in the world. But when the living water gushing out of the temple entered, the salt water turned into sweet water. As the water changed, life began to live. As the fish became alive, naturally, fishermen flocked to catch fish. It means the revival of a devastated industry has come. It has changed to a normal sea that is not different in the slightest compared to other seas. However, there were places where living water could not flow in. It was a swamp and a pond.
Unlike the Dead Sea, there was only salt here. This proves that the change of the Dead Sea was not an accident, but was due to the living water gushing out of the temple. The result of rejecting something new was just that.
Amazing changes were taking place in the river hills, which are most affected by water. Fruit trees with green leaves lined up all year round, bearing fruit non-stop. And these trees were bearing new fruit every month. Not only that, but because of its medicinal properties, it was also popular as a medicine to treat diseases.
3. This living water is the Holy Spirit.
Wherever Christianity passed, new changes took place. People who had lost hope in life and were in despair gained new courage and took on a challenge to change their lives. The Dead Sea is the lowest place on Earth. Water flows from high places to low places, but it is different from the Dead Sea in that it serves as a road for the water to pass through. So it becomes a river. However, the Dead Sea completely blocked the exit.
The life of giving to others as much as we received should be the Christian life. If you only receive and do not give, you will end up like the Dead Sea. However, even such a person changes into a new person when they are immersed in the living water of the Holy Spirit. A person who is salty like salt can become sweet water. This is the work of the Holy Spirit. Although the Dead Sea was a puddle that only one knew but received and did not send, it had the potential to change depending on what it received, and the living water of the Holy Spirit changed salt into sweet water. But there were places where neither receiving nor giving, only the rain falling from the sky, there was no change. There are people who never feel the need to ask anyone for help. They are swamps and ponds. They don't even try to help others. there is only you
Living water from the temple flowed around the altar. The work of the Holy Spirit, which began in Mark's upper room in the early church, came to America through Europe and from America to Asia again. Wherever the living water of the Holy Spirit went, wherever it flowed, churches were established and the gospel was preached. This gospel changed everything. A useless person turned into a sweet drinker.
I can change too. And you can change too. Our country must change, and our family must change. Let us humble ourselves so that the living water of the Holy Spirit flows. And give back to others as much as you receive.
