The Power of the Word

power of the word
It seems that there are cases where we have been perceived as very different because of our emphasis on rest. “I live by faith” “I live under the guidance of the Holy Spirit” “I do not follow the thoughts of the flesh, I follow the thoughts of the Spirit” “Christ is When “You live in me” is fulfilled in my daily life, the Lord can fully rule me in me, and Your discernment and Your thoughts will control me. When that happens, you will be freed from sin, rest from your relationships with people, listen to your voice and instructions and follow the Lord, and your friendship with the Lord will continue, and Christ will live in me. These are the people who enjoy rest.
■ In verse 11, what kind of people can enter the rest?
- Only those who completely obey can enter the rest.
(Joshua and Caleb said, “They had a different heart, and they followed me completely. (Man 14:24; Deuteronomy 2:36)
- Perfect obedience is not by what you see but to be harmonious and follow God's promises by faith.
- The fact that Christ lives in me means that complete obedience to Christ is possible just like Joshua and Caleb. Just as a child who sins against his father cannot enjoy rest before his father, he rests without living a life of obedience to the Lord. It is a lie that Christ lives completely in me.
- We saw a greater sign than the people of Israel at that time. That is Jesus Christ, who was crucified and died and rose again the third day (Hebrews 1:1).
■ Verse 12 The Word of God is alive and has power.... What does it mean that the Word is alive?
- It means that there is power in those words.
- That the Word of God is alive is only applicable to His people. It says, “My sheep hear my voice.”
- Only those who know that Jesus Christ is truly God the Creator and Savior will hear the words of Christ.
■ Why is complete obedience not achieved?
- Because I do not know that my thoughts are the fundamental sin.
(If it is good in my opinion, it is not. If it is evil, it is not. My thoughts come first than the Word of God.)
■ Evidence that God's Word has power
- You see your shame. (Adam and Eve)
- The fact that the Word of God is alive is actually revealing our shame. We will never be able to enjoy complete rest until our shame is revealed before God.
- God wants our shame to be seen naked. Like a woman caught in adultery, she was able to start a new life where her shame was revealed.
- The Word of God makes us see the deep sins inside us.
- The saints naturally put down each other's shame.
■ Why God Makes Our Shame Revealed
- This is so that we can change from a life that depends on our own thoughts to a life that completely depends on our Lord.
- Our Lord Himself set an example (he was thoroughly shamed and insulted, obeyed to the point of death, and died on the cross and rose again)
■ We believe in Jesus Christ...
- He knows our weakness.
- He is always with us and treats us with grace.
- Today, our Lord wants us to operate through the living Word so that we can no longer trust in ourselves but only in Christ.
“Let us look to Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith, who for the joy set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is seated at the right hand of the throne of God.”
