There is no true rest in the world (Hebrews 4:1-11)
Therefore let us make every effort to enter that rest, lest anyone fall from that example of disobedience (Hebrews 11:10).
God called them to give rest to the Israelites who were enslaved in Egypt. He was called to save us from the sufferings of slavery and to set us free. However, the Israelites did not find true rest. It is because they refused to enter the land of Canaan, which was prepared to give them rest. The Israelites were not allowed to enter the land of Canaan, which was prepared for rest by adults over the age of 20. There are three reasons why the Israelites could not find rest.
First, we could not enter into rest because we did not receive God's promises by faith. “The word they heard did not benefit them, because the hearer did not combine it with faith” (Hebrews 4:2). There are strong cities in the land of Canaan and there are giants armed with iron weapons, but God said he would drive them out, but he did not believe the promise. Second, they could not enter the rest because they disobeyed God. “Then there remain those who will enter it, but those who first received the gospel did not enter because of disobedience” (Hebrews 4:6). Third, he could not enter into rest because he had a hard heart and did not know how to repent. “A long time later, in the writings of David, a certain day was set again, and thus it was said beforehand, today, but today, if you hear his voice, do not harden your hearts” (Hebrews 4:7).
