Think and seek the above (Colossians 3:1)
Think and find the above
Colossians 3:1-4
Human life changes into a completely different world according to differences in thinking. [John Templeton] said, "Thoughts that arise in a person's mind are bound to be revealed by their nature." There is something called the 80-20 rule. According to this law, 20% of your thoughts control 80% of your life. Our hands and feet always move from our thoughts. Therefore, negative thoughts cannot produce positive results, and good thoughts cannot produce bad results. A person full of bad thoughts cannot do good deeds. If your thoughts are positive and positive, so will your hands and feet and actions.
So, it is very important what a person sees and buys or what they think and live in life. What you are immersed in throughout your life is the person's existence, the meaning of life, and the person's destiny. If you look closely, your thoughts become your actions, and your actions become your habits. It's good if it's good, but bad habits that start with bad thoughts are the problem. That is why there are so many sad people who carry this with them until the day they die.
What kind of thoughts do you usually live in? What are you thinking at this moment? Occasionally, during worship, what you are thinking is reflected on your face. As I preach, I take a close look at each of you as I preach. Then there are people who smile to themselves. Obviously I'm not talking funny, but I'm laughing. I don't know what the hell you're thinking. Also, it's definitely the right time to laugh, but there are people who stare blankly with their mouths open and their eyes out of focus. I wonder what the hell are you thinking. People are like this. You need to know that not only does your behavior change depending on what you think, but it also makes your behavior both ugly and beautiful. But how important is it if you think it's a matter of a lifetime? Furthermore, what if what you think and what you see is directly related to the problem of the soul?
In today's text, the meaning of the Christian is very seriously, philosophically, theologically, logically, mysteriously and practically. If you look carefully at today's verse, it describes four attributes about Christians. First, Christians are those who died with Christ. Second, those who have been raised with Christ. The third are those who are hidden in heaven with Christ. Fourth, they are said to be those who will appear with Christ when He comes in glory. There is a common word to think about here, and it is the word "with Christ". I am dying with Christ and living with Christ, and because there is Christ, I am in Christ, and only when I see Christ can I see myself, and only when I am in Christ has the meaning of my existence.
Also, Paul said that he was raised with Christ. On the morning of the resurrection of Christ, I was also raised. So the meaning of my life, the purpose of my life, my values, and my happiness have been resurrected. But this resurrection has meaning, not blindness. Now, I live with the joy that pleases Christ, and I can only rejoice when Christ is pleased, and those whom Christ loves are born again and live as those I love. This is called being born again or being born again. I died as myself, I lived as Christ, I died before the law, and I lived by the Spirit. This is how Christians live. It is only when you know the meaning of this new birth that you can live a Christian life.
But the reason why I am saying this is because it is the same way we go to heaven. Jesus and we registered our marriage. So our names are already there. Our seat in heaven as the bride of Jesus is reserved. So now, even if you die anywhere, you are already reported to go there. Looking up to the sky and looking to Christ is what a Christian is. This is the meaning of the saying, “In Christ my life is hid.” I am living on this earth for a short time as a pilgrim, but you are welcome to visit at any time. Any shape is fine. But if I go, I will surely go to the place where my life is hidden there.
And the last attribute of Christians to consider is the mysterious and practical word that the Lord will appear together in glory when he comes. Anyone who drives a car must look ahead. You must never look back. You shouldn't even think about it. You just have to look forward. Why? Driving is because I sometimes go forward, but what is in front of me comes right in front of me at the moment. But it will come in an instant, and it will surely come before me. So you have to look ahead and look far ahead. In the same way, today's Bible verses very strongly say to us who are running the race of faith, "Do not think about the things of the earth, but seek the things above. This is the attitude of a believer who should only look at the life in front of me and go out.
Dear saints!
You see the sayings, "Seek the things above.", "Think the things above." Our hearts and minds should already be up there. If you love things on earth, you lose everything in heaven as well as things on earth. But if you follow heaven, you will get what is in heaven and what is on earth.
Today's Christian is, "Consider the things above, not the things of the earth. Seek the things above. There, Christ is seated at the right hand of God, and in whom your life is hidden." People.
