Throw away everything/ Genesis 35:1~5
Key Verse: “And he built an altar there, and called the place El Bethel, because there God appeared to him when he fled from his brother” (Genesis 35:7).
Our lives are provided by God. Give yourself to the Lord to let God intervene in my life. If you go straight ahead with the purpose of life that God has given you, you will reach the top. If you try to gain the things of the world, God is not with you. When we seek and go out according to God's will, God is with us (1 John 5:14-15).
If you're stuck right now, see if I'm dependent on the world's background, money, or power. And let go of your dependence (Psalm 146:3). I need to discern whether I am depending on the world or God.
In today's text, Jacob's family buried everything they owned and adorned under a tree and went to God in the midst of a crisis. At this time, God helped. Although it was an environment where he had no choice but to die, God protected and helped Jacob's family (Gen. 35:4-5,7).
Today, let's give up everything we depended on more than God and repent. And just as Jacob remembered the vow he made in the old days and returned to God, let's go the way we have decided before God. Just as Jacob received God's blessing, God's blessing will come into your life as well.
Prayer: Heavenly Father, when we do not depend on the things of this world, but on God alone, God's grace may come into our homes. I pray in Jesus name. Amen.
