To enjoy the title paper freedom
It is the 59th anniversary of Lee's founding freedom after being a servant for 36 years under Japanese rule. Japan is distorting history to cover up the atrocities of aggression, but isn't China rising a bit more now? We have been given free spiritual freedom from the law and death through faith in Jesus Christ, and we should be able to enjoy that freedom.
1. All you have to do is practice your calling 13th~
“Brothers, you are called” at the outset of “Brothers, you are called to freedom” is a nickname for the Galatians, and it is very emphatic. This points out that the Galatians are in a special position compared to the Judaists of verse 12. Judaists were slaves of the law, but Galatians were freed from the law through Jesus Christ. “Freedom” is often used in the sense of setting slaves free, but because Christ killed them, we were set free from sin and set free from the law (John 8:32; Romans 8:1). Therefore, we have freedom when we live as divine messengers rather than the liberation of the political state.
2. All you need to do is live as the redeemed 13th
“Do not take an opportunity for the flesh” This refers to an opportunity that is worldly and satisfies the lusts of the flesh, and an opportunity to go out with self-centeredness and selfishness. I have heard that there were true patriots when Korea was liberated from Japan, and there were also big thieves who tried to get a seat and small thieves who tried to cheat and eat. Just because you have been saved through faith in Christ, you should not use that freedom as an opportunity to sin according to the lusts of the flesh. We, who have gained spiritual freedom by believing the gospel, are not under the yoke of the law, but we must do God's will, the law, freely and joyfully. “Flesh” refers to the corruption and sinfulness of man. The purpose of God's atonement for us by sacrificing his only begotten Son, Christ, is not only to save us from our sins, but also to keep us from sinning. If we live spiritually, we can enjoy freedom.
3. All you need to do is live as a servant with love 13a~
“Serve one another through love.” Freedom is often confused with indulgence. It is not liberty that God made us free. In the early church, the doctrine of salvation through faith was misunderstood, so it was possible to neglect the ethical life and fall into self-indulgence (Romans 3:8, 1 Corinthians 6:12-13, Philippians 3:18). Those who have been liberated from the slavery of the law are now to become slaves of love, but true freedom consists in becoming slaves of love. When we were under Japanese rule, Korea lived as a slave to Japan, but not anymore. We, who have attained spiritual freedom through faith, are not slaves to the law, but we are moved by God's love to serve God. Love is love and freedom in this life.
4. You just need to love your neighbor 14~
“The whole law said, ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself…’” This is the word of “Leviticus 19:18,” which means that Christ loves God with all his heart (Deuteronomy 6:5) and loves his neighbor as himself. He said that the branch is the rule of the law (Matthew 22:17-40), but Paul only treated neighbors (Romans 13:8, 10). The Jews had only their own people and hated their enemies, but Christ extended their neighbors to their enemies (Matthew 5:43-48), and Paul in the text does not differentiate between Jews and Gentiles. If we love our neighbors, we will become free.
5. Avoid conflict and go 15~
“If you bite and eat each other, be careful not to destroy each other.” Fighting with each other and arguing over loss of character leads to mutual destruction, not God's will, but slavery to the devil. Conflicts and quarrels are easy to occur unexpectedly where God's will is neglected, but if we do not resolve it through faith, we will continue to confront each other and even become enemies, so we should avoid it even if we suffer losses. “Bite and eat” is a very strong expression, meaning the hatred and harm that comes from a state of division. Paul said that it is better to suffer injustice and be deceived than to fight out of concession (1 Corinthians 6:7). Such a life will be blessed because God is pleased, there is no damage to one's heart, and the gospel shines.
[Concluding remarks] Rather than physical pain and mental pressure, we should be content with the freedom of the soul without being taken over by Satan. The oppression of Japan was a tragedy for the nation and the nation, and there were many sacrifices and martyrs. We, who have such a history, will also protect the nation and nation when we protect the spiritual freedom we have gained in our hearts.
