To leave an immortal legacy

Commentary on the main text / When we think of abortion, we think of the property left behind according to the will of the dead. Inheritance is the spiritual, emotional and social inheritance that parents pass on to their children. However, we believers must first think of the legacy of our faith. This is because, even after a long period of time, one's legacy will grow thrifty, and the things you are doing now are not material that will remain forever. The thing that can be left the most forever is people. Soul. Children live on the land left behind by their parents.
Question 1: How does Jesus handle someone's petition? (verses 13-15)
Answer: A man came to Jesus. And he complains to Jesus about his injustice. Perhaps the older brother monopolized the parent's inheritance. So this man earnestly asked Jesus to solve his family's property problems (verse 13). But Jesus was too cold-hearted toward this man (verse 14). Jesus tells this man to put aside his worldly covetousness before he settles his property problem (verse 15). While this man is interested in how to live the world, Jesus is now all interested in “life.” What was the purpose of Jesus coming to this earth? “That the sheep may have life.” Jesus is interested in human life. A person's life does not consist in the abundance of possessions.
Question 2: What kind of person does Jesus say are truly rich? (Verses 16-21)
Answer: (1) The rich man did not fall into intemperance or wandering, but devoted himself to collecting wealth. This rich man builds a warehouse and says to himself, "Soul, let's drink and rejoice." God calls such a rich man “a fool” in verse 20 (verse 20).
(2) Who are the real rich? He is rich in spirit (verse 21). The richest person in the world is God. It is Jesus (2 Corinthians 8:9). God was His own, and He lacked nothing (Psalm 50:9-12). But the Lord, who was rich, lived in poverty. Jesus made us poor and made us rich. acknowledged as "blessing".
Question 3: Why did Jesus call the rich a fool?
Answer: ⑴ His view of life was foolish because he was self-centered. (2) It was foolish because the rich man's values were materialistic. ⑶ It was foolish because the rich man's worldview was mundane.
Question 4: How can we leave an immortal legacy?
Answer: (1) We must examine ourselves with the standard of evaluation in our own lives.
The first is the impact assessment. God has endowed each of us with the ability to influence the lives of others, and He expects a return on that investment. Influence is not the same as making a name. All names will be erased in the wave of time. “Let every knee be broken at the name of Jesus, both in heaven and on earth and under the earth” (Philippians 2:10). Only him remains. That is why we must stake our life's success on the influence of the Gospel. Our lives and time are not ours. It belongs to Jesus Christ, who rules life. How much influence have we lived with the gospel to those around us this year?
The second is the test of abundance. If we are to influence eternity, we must also think carefully about how we will use our material resources. Passing this material assessment is irrespective of how much money you have. I am only responsible for how I use the resources God has given me, it is not a matter of more or less. The material we have consists in being a giver and a giver, not a giver and taker. God wants us to be channels of blessing. To bless others and to write in gratitude for what we have been given is building a storehouse of eternal treasures.
(2) In order to leave an immortal legacy, we must know God. First, we can know by faith (Hebrews 11:6). Second, we can know it through love (1 John 4:7-8). Third, we can know with thanksgiving (1 Timothy 6:6). Finally, we can know by obedience (1 Samuel 12:23-24).
Decision message:
Dear saints, how would you like your tombstones to be written?
