Top 3 Postures for Thriving
Exodus (1) Three postures for prosperity
(Ex 1:1-7)
1. Be confident in yourself
In verse 1 of the text, the Jacob family, who had no base in Egypt, gradually prospered in Egypt and became a very powerful nation. That is a foreshadowing that anyone can receive the blessing of prosperity under any circumstance. Thinking about your personality, environment, and current situation, you say, “I can’t! Don't deny the possibility of blessings by saying, "I can't!" God is the one who makes the impossible possible. If we obey and go out according to God's will, we can enjoy the blessing of prosperity even if our current ability is insufficient.
How important is it to be clear about your identity and have confidence in yourself in life? Jacob's family made their identity clear even when they went to Egypt. The fact that Jacob's 12 sons are listed as they are in verses 2-5 is indirect evidence that they have a clear identity. That clear self-identity means, after all, that you have confidence in yourself. Only when we have such self-confidence can we overcome hardships and trials, and in the end we will receive the blessing of prosperity.
People often put others within their limits due to the limitations they have experienced. Break that limit and don't take it when someone says, "You can't do that!" Don't accept what your friends, coaches, and competent counselors say, and don't even take negative comments from your parents. Do not forget that God's promise of blessing is not given to them, but to you.
2. Be pioneering
In verse 5, we see that 70 of Jacob's blood relatives went to Egypt, an unknown land. How excited were you then? However, with such a pioneering spirit, we were able to prosper in numbers enough to later form a nation in Egypt. If you believe in blessings and have a pioneering spirit at the same time, great work will be accomplished. Many of today's works and civilizations are the product of the pioneering spirit. If you start something new with such a pioneering spirit, you will be blessed with amazing spiritual power and prosperity.
The power of thought is stronger than any power in the world. Therefore, change your mind, renew your heart with the Word, and go out with a pioneering spirit toward the blessings of tomorrow. At the age of 85, Caleb pointed to an unknown land and said to Joshua, “Give me this mountain!” When you try to occupy a new area with God-given creative ideas and brilliant wisdom with such a pioneering spirit, that blessing will be a wonderful blessing beyond your imagination. There is a big difference between the blessing of the first runners and the blessing of the late runners.
In the end, if you want the blessing of prosperity, try your best to enter through the narrow gate as the Lord says. If you like to go to places where the crowds gather, the blessings of prosperity are already far away. If you go to a place where the majority are swept away, the blessing of 'enjoyment' diminishes, and you only suffer 'burim' of someone like a worker ant or a modern slave. Even if a slightly difficult situation is expected, if you do not shy away from the pioneer path, you will eventually receive the blessing of amazing prosperity.
3. Raise Disciples
The best thing Jacob did in his life was raising his 12 half-children relatively well as children with the same identity of faith. One of Jesus' greatest works was to leave behind 12 disciples. The most important thing that saints should pursue is raising good posterity and discipleship. Focus on raising disciples and don't spare a helping hand for someone else. At that time, you will receive God's support and supporters to help you. If you look at successful people, there is something very important in them. It's a 'sponsor'.
Now in your life, work harder to save more souls and make more disciples. At least do not be discouraged if your current co-worker is a supporter or a disciple. God has never accomplished anything great from the beginning through the multitude. When Jesus entered Jerusalem, a large crowd welcomed Him enthusiastically, but within five days the reception turned into a cry of “Crucify Him!” So, don't expect too much from a large crowd.
What is the biggest problem for many church members? You are losing your pioneering spirit. But wherever you go, don't be a passive member of the majority, but dream of the blessing of thriving through the path of the few to the majority. Don't give up on your dreams and visions even if your current appearance is lacking. Of course, that way is the way of the cross, but if you take up the cross for the sake of the holy will, God will surely grant you a time of splendid glory.
