What is the title?/Acts 2:5-13
The disciples who followed Jesus for three years
He believed that “Jesus would be the political Messiah who would rescue the nation of Israel from the tyranny of Rome.”
However, contrary to what they hoped for, Jesus was crucified and died horribly.
Their disappointment was not over, and their hopes and expectations were shattered.
So they scattered all over the place.
The seven disciples, including Peter, and Thomas, called Didymus, and Nathanael, the sons of Zebedee, and two other disciples, returned to the Sea of Galilee to fish, that is, to their old life.
The other two disciples went down to Emmaus.
The place where they had gathered to worship was closed, and believers could not be found in Jerusalem.
However, only 50 days have passed since then, and the streets of Jerusalem have a new vibrancy.
As the scattered disciples gathered again and prayed, they were filled with the Holy Spirit and boldly testified of the resurrection of Christ.
According to Acts 2:36
“Therefore, let all the house of Israel know for sure that God has made this Jesus, whom you crucified, both Lord and Christ.”
They didn't just shout like that in front of ordinary people.
He risked his life to testify in front of a high priest who could save or kill people.
By no means did they preach in a good environment where religious freedom was guaranteed, but they boldly witnessed the gospel in the era of persecution of Christianity, preparing for martyrdom.
Can you really do this?
Why have they changed so much, who were so humble just a short time ago?
It was the baptism of the Holy Spirit that the Lord promised.
After seeing the resurrection and ascension of the Lord, they prayed earnestly for ten days, received the baptism of the Holy Spirit, and received the power of heaven.
You have been transformed into a new person who obeys the guidance of the Holy Spirit.
What was the reason for being amazed and admiring what dose this mean?
First, because of the sound.
[When this sound came out...] (Verse 6)
In Revelation 14:2, we can see that there are three types of sounds.
I can't even understand what you're talking about
There are terrifying sounds like the sound of many unpretentious waters, and there are beautiful melodies like the sound of a lyre.
Most of the sounds in the world are not beautiful sounds.
It's just miscellaneous sounds that break people's hearts, make them afflicted, and disappoint others.
However, a beautiful voice resounded from the members of the early church who received grace.
It is said that for a country to develop, three voices must be heard.
first. The cries of children must be resonated loudly, indicating an increase in the population.
Second, the sound of weaving must be heard, which means industrial and economic revival. As the saying goes that people's hearts come from the back wine, regardless of family, country, or any organization, when the pockets are thick, the people's hearts are generous and people's lives become convenient.
Third, you should hear the reading sound. This means improving the culture.
Three voices must be heard in the Christian home and in the church.
first prayer,
Second, the sound of reading the Bible,
Third, the sound of evangelism must resonate.
We must pray earnestly to receive grace.
For grace is like the rain (Psalm 65:10),
Where does it rain a lot?
It is an area with a lot of water vapor.
Therefore, spiritual grace will come upon the heart where the vapor of prayer rises a lot.
To receive abundant blessings, we must diligently read the Word of God and obey it.
The Thessalonian church also received the word with joy in the midst of many afflictions, and became imitators of the Lord, so that even in the midst of the very poor, the church overflowed with rich generosity.
Therefore, they received abundant blessings, and the good news of their faith toward God spread everywhere (1 Thessalonians 1:6-8).
Also, in order to receive the power, we must evangelize diligently.
You will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you (Acts 1:8).
Also, you will receive power when you diligently preach the gospel in season or out of season.
The Early Church, which received grace, received the apostles' teachings, and worked hard to fellowship, to break bread, to share with each other, and to gather in the temple with the same heart every day and to evangelize.
It was a church that prays when we gather and evangelizes when we disperse.
Not just for a day or two, but every day of the year, 12 months, 365 days a year.
Even when there was a blizzard or rain and wind, we worked hard to gather and evangelize even when it was cold or hot.
It is said that before liberation, the church outside the west gate of Pyongyang was a large church with 4,000 people.
However, even though it was such a large church, no matter how much snow fell in winter, not a single person came to the Sunday morning prayer meeting.
Nevertheless, the pastor stood at the pulpit and led the worship service just like when a large number of believers gathered.
The title of the sermon at that time was "God Sees Through Eyes Like Flames". As I was preaching in a loud voice, an unknown grandmother, a church member, came out through the snow and received grace.
Shortly thereafter, this grandmother passed away.
After the funeral, a rainbow suddenly appeared, and a man followed the rainbow and found that he was staying in the tomb where the old woman was buried. Many people admired, saying, "That grandmother has gone to heaven."
Brothers and sisters, let's not fall for the Sunday worship service for 12 months a year, 52 weeks.
Also, Sunday night worship
Let's diligently participate in the three-day prayer meeting.
Also, Sunday night worship
Let's diligently attend the Trinity Prayer Meeting.
Also, let's diligently attend the morning prayer meeting or the evening prayer meeting.
If you look at the words of the Spirit of God operating in Genesis 1:2, it is in Hebrew, the original language.
tp,j,r'm] is the verb piel participle active feminine singular of #j'r;]
It is translated as “He was traveling”, which has the same meaning as a chicken hatching an egg.
Eggs held in the mother's arms for 21 days will hatch into chicks, but eggs not hatched will not hatch and become rotten eggs.
Only those who strive to gather together can enjoy the life of Christ abundantly.
Second, it is because we have experienced the great works of God.
Verse 11 We hear in our tongues speaking the great things of God.
According to what the godly Jews who had gathered in Jerusalem said, the disciples and the saints filled with the Holy Spirit experienced the great works that God had done.
God is doing great and unfathomable things, and He is doing countless miracles, but He does not allow anyone to experience them.
First, He allows those who pray to experience the great works of God.
Even believers who believe in the Lord can experience God's great miracles when they pray.
This is a story that happened in a certain church.
Difficulties have been cried out to a saint who is doing business. Her husband was imprisoned in detention after being framed for trademark theft by conspiring with her partner.
In addition, he was subjected to a tax inspection, and as a result, the business was under pressure, and the business was on the verge of being burned.
I went to church during the Sunday night service, but I did not have the strength to sit down, so I opened the door and went out, collapsed and moved to the office.
“Repent of the sins of not attending the Sunday worship service properly under the pretext of being busy and of not giving things to God under the pretext of business.”
And then I prayed earnestly.
He repented with endless tears.
The next day, he received a call asking him to hold a family worship service, and he went to preach this kind of sermon.
“Just as Peter obeyed Jesus and looked only at the Lord when he went out, he walked on the sea, but when he disobeyed his word, he fell into the water. You never fall into the wave of failure, but if you disobey the Lord's word, break the Lord's Day, tithe, and live unfaithfully, you will inevitably fall into the wave of failure. If you repent thoroughly and pray, God will perform a miracle. is," he said.
They responded with Amen, repented, and worshiped.
God heard the prayer of repentance
Her husband was acquitted and is said to be able to continue the business again.
When we repent and pray, God allows us to experience miracles.
Second, when we obey, we experience the great works of God.
Moses, obeying God's command to throw his staff, experienced defeating King Pharaoh.
As Joshua obeyed God's command to visit Jericho once a day, he witnessed the miracle of the fall of Jericho.
Abraham experienced the miracle of receiving Isaac again as a blessing when he obeyed God's word and offered his only son, Isaac, whom he could not possibly offer through recognition.
The widow of Zarephath also experienced the miracle of living without starvation even after three and a half years of famine when she obeyed the command to offer the last meal she would eat.
Let us also pray fervently and obey God's Word to experience God's great works.
So let the whole world know that God is doing great things among us.
"The Pharisees said to one another, Behold, your work is useless. Behold, the whole world is after him" (John 12:19).
Third, because they became new men drunk with the Spirit.
The 120 apostles who were filled with the Holy Spirit were like those who were drunk with new wine (verse 13).
I was drunk with the new wine of the Holy Spirit, not with alcohol like soju, makgeolli, or yangju in the world.
When a person is drunk with the Holy Spirit, he can live according to the Word of God. The world today claims that "man can live on bread alone." However, those who are drunk with the Holy Spirit reject the idea of materialism, saying, "Man cannot live by bread alone, but by every word that comes out of the mouth of God."
A long time ago, a popular TV program called Roots was aired. It is a work that exposes the sinfulness of slavery.
A scene like this comes out.
It is a scene where a farmer who bought a sturdy slave named Countacintera from Africa for 155 pounds, while reading the human Bible, a godly faith, beats the slave through the supervisor in order to tame it.
This man has the form of godliness, but does not have the faith of godliness.
He must be a cruel man whose love for his neighbor has dried up.
He is a hypocrite who reads the Bible and does not live by its words.
When you get drunk with the new wine of the Holy Spirit, you become a person of faith.
Without faith it is impossible to please God, and we cannot be drunk with the new wine of the Holy Spirit.
You cannot be a person of faith before.
Therefore, 1 Corinthians 12:89 in the Bible says, “It is through the same Spirit that you give us faith.”
When you become drunk with the Holy Spirit, you become a person of great faith who makes the impossible possible and creates miracles.
“If you have faith the size of a grain of mustard seed, you may say to this mountain, ‘Be lifted up, and cast into the sea,’ and it will be done for you.”
A person who is drunk on the Holy Spirit is irresistible.
No power in the world can control him.
Neither tribulation, nor distress, nor persecution, nor famine, nor nakedness, nor danger, nor sword can separate him from the love of Christ.
Therefore, Peter, who was drunk with the Holy Spirit, boldly testified of the gospel even before the high priest.
Brothers and sisters, let us all be filled with the Holy Spirit.
So let's become a person the world can't do anything about.
