What made the title one
that united
Ephesians 4:1-6
What do you think is the most necessary for the revival of the church? Some say that we need to pray hard. Yes. You must pray hard. Some say that evangelism must be diligent. Yes. Of course, only evangelism can lead to revival because new people come in. Others say we should build a good temple on a large piece of land. I think factors like these environmental buildings are also important. Others say that worship is important. That's right. Only through worship can the church survive. However, no matter how much you pray or evangelize, even if you have a good temple and worship, I think there is one thing that is more important than that. It's just being one. That's what it means to work hard to protect one another.
Introducing the lyrics of the praise song, “Let us be united.”
Our hearts are all divided
May we be one in you
We exalt each other with humility
May we become one by serving one another.
You are with us when we are one
May we become one by serving one another.
In today's text, there is something we need to pay attention to, which is, "Make every effort to keep the unity of the Holy Spirit." This means that the Holy Spirit has already united our lives, and at the same time, we must strive to keep what the Holy Spirit has made us to become one. Not everyone can properly protect what you have created. So, you have to work hard to keep it.
What is the secret to achieving the 2002 World Cup semifinals? Some say it was Hiddink's leadership, some say it was the feat of striker Park Ji-sung and Ahn Jung-hwan, and some say that it would have been impossible without Lee Woon-jae's save. But the most important of all this is that they became one. As such, we were able to achieve a miraculous victory by defeating the world football powers one by one when we fought together as one.
Where are the problems in our homes today? It is because the couple cannot become one. Where are the problems of this country and the nation? Politicians are not trying to become one. When someone gives an opinion, they unconditionally oppose it. There doesn't seem to be any effort to listen and reconcile each other. Where are the problems of the church today? It consists in trying to do things only with one's own feelings, with one's own thoughts and arguments, and not having a unified mind. I hope you will live a miraculously victorious life in the given family, the world, and the Church of God with the words “Make every effort to keep the unity of the Holy Spirit” in your heart.
“Preserve them in your name, which you have given me, that they may be one as we are” (John 17:11).
* Prayer: Loving Lord, help me to meditate on Your Word. Give us a deep understanding and apply it to our lives. May all our peoples stay away from strife and strife, love each other and become one. Guided by your goodness, let us look to you, the author and perfecter of our faith. May we receive the joy of new life only by looking to the Lord. We pray in the name of our Savior Jesus. Amen
