When Hearing the Title (Hebrews 4:12)
Contents
This year, March is a very important month for the church members. It is the month of Lent, Palm Sunday, Holy Week, and Easter. I think it is a good opportunity to receive grace and blessings spiritually.
In order to not miss this opportunity and to experience the abundant spiritual grace of all the members, our church is preparing various spiritual programs such as the Spring Great Visitation, Special Early Morning Rally for Holy Week, and the Spring Spirit Revival Crusade.
No matter how hard the church prepares and proceeds for the spiritual experience and maturity of the members, it is of no use if you do not participate and listen to the Word. Even in the revival meeting with the servants of the divine Lord, only those who participate, and those who must participate, do not.
It is also the case in the Grand Atrium. I visit the spiritually weak, sick, hard, difficult, and tempted souls to comfort and heal them with the Word and prayer, but I do not see those who must attend.
In view of this unfortunate reality, this Holy Week early morning rally and the Spring Spirit Revival Crusade would like to examine what kind of history appears when all alumni participate and listen to the Word to receive grace.
As shown in today's text, because the word of God is alive and has movement, it is sharper than any other edged sword and pierces even to the division of our soul, spirit, joints, and marrow. He was healed and saved.
Among them, reading the Word is important and studying the Word is important, but more importantly, when you listen to the preached Word, a greater work will appear. So, in the book of Revelation, “He who has an ear, let him hear.” The words keep coming out over and over again. That is why it is so important to listen to the preached word.
Now, let's take a look at what kind of work is revealed when we listen to the Word today.
1. The history of repentance appears.
The reason we must repent is that our lives cannot prosper when we hide our sins without repenting.
The cause of all problems is sin. No problem can be forgiven without repenting of that sin. So repentance is essential. Only God has the authority to forgive our sins. God forgives the sins of those who truly realize, admit, repent, regret, and confess their sins.
But the problem is that today we are born in a sinful world and live in sin, so we do not regard sin as a sin, but as a natural pattern of life. As a result, there is no remorse, no regrets, and no enlightenment when committing a sin. There is no bigger bottle than this.
Also, after committing a sin, there is remorse and regret. Also, “God is wrong.” and ask for forgiveness. However, after a certain period of time, it repeats over and over again. This is not true repentance. Of course, as a fragile human being, the possibility of committing the same sin over and over cannot be ruled out at all.
But true repentance is a decisive turn from sin. Our souls insensitive to sin must mourn, and it is impossible for us to achieve true repentance that confesses our sins and turns them around completely.
However, when we listen to the Word, the work of repentance appears. Even King David, who had committed a great sin, did not realize it and did not repent, and when the prophet Nathan visited and preached the word, he repented of his sin and shed tears and mourned the floor to the point of rotting.
And so did the people of Nineveh. The history of repentance in which people repented and confessed after hearing the word of God preached by Jonah appeared.
Also, in Acts 2, we can see that when Peter was preaching, thousands of people heard the words and repented, “What am I going to do?”
Gentlemen, we cannot do anything without solving the problems of our sins, great and small. So repentance is necessary. Remember that the works of repentance appear when we listen to God's Word, and I hope that while listening to the Word at this meeting, you will receive the spirit of repentance and the problem of sin will be resolved and all things will go well.
2. The history of resuscitation appears.
Resurrection refers to the rebirth of the dead, the rebirth of the fallen things, the rebirth of the ruined things, the succession of the failed things, and so on. But these things appear when we listen to the word of God.
In Ezekiel 37, we see the scene where the prophet Ezekiel had a vision. The valley of Ezekiel was full of dry bones. Verse 4 says to the dry bones, “Hear the word of the Lord.” has prophesied. Then the bare bones began to move. Bone and bones fit together. And tendons were formed, and flesh was put on them, and skins were covered over them, and breath of life entered them, and they became a great army. This kind of work is manifested when the word of God is proclaimed with such a bare bone.
Gentlemen, the word proclaimed like this has amazing power. Things that used to go down happen. Dead things come alive. Things that were stagnant are revived. Do not miss the opportunity at this feast of the Word, and I hope that our hearts, your livelihoods, and your health will be doubled as our church's motto this year.
3. The history of healing appears.
In the four Gospels, there are many scenes of Jesus healing not only physical diseases but also various weak things. There are some ways Jesus healed people by laying their hands on them and praying, but most of them healed through the proclamation of the Word.
In Mark chapter 2, when he healed a paralytic, in chapter 5 he heals a madman in Gerasa; in Luke 7 he heals the centurion's servant; in chapter 8 he heals a patient with hemorrhage for 12 years; When you look at the healing of Jairus' daughter and the 38-year-old man in John 5, he healed them all through the preaching of the word.
Therefore, is there anyone suffering from physical diseases or weakened by various problems? I hope that there will be a history of healing and healing while listening to the Word of God.
4. The history of spiritual experience appears.
If you have been living your life of faith for many years and have no spiritual experience, then that person is a mannequin believer. If you go to Myeong-dong, look at the mannequins in the show window. They have eyes, noses, mouths, eyebrows, clothes, and they look like humans, but they are not. A saint without spiritual experience is like a mannequin. They are saints, but not saints.
Don't you want to experience the amazing Holy Spirit? So, shouldn't we live a life of faith filled with emotion, joy, and conviction? Such spiritual experiences also appear where the Word is preached.
In Acts 10:44-46, the Cornelius family invites Apostle Peter to a revival meeting to listen to the Word. At that time, everyone gathered there will receive grace from the unprecedented experience of the Holy Spirit.
Do you want to experience the hot Holy Spirit? Please participate in this crusade and wait for the Word with longing hearts. Then it will be an opportunity for a wonderful spiritual experience.
Romans 10:17 says that faith comes from hearing the word of God. You don't know how important it is to hear the word of God proclaimed. As you listen to the Word this time, I hope that you will overflow with the work of repentance, healing, revival, and spiritual experience.
