When it is built up as a title word

when built on the word

For the spring day of my soul 8 2009.07.08

“My soul melts from being crushed; build me up according to your word” (Psalm 119:28).

I. Text Commentary

Without the psalms in our lives, our faith would have been much drier. When we are in pain, the psalms reveal the inner world of other saints coming to God on our side. Even when we think that our sufferings and sufferings are unique to us, we find that there are people who have lived through the same sufferings and sufferings as in the Psalms. Psalm 119 is a poem that contains many autobiographical confessions of the poet who fell and rose again in the midst of many trials and tribulations.

The text of verse 28 we read recalls how God saved his soul through the Word of the poet who experienced the grace of being resurrected after his soul was stagnated like a dead person due to suffering, persecution, and trials before and after.

The poet says: My soul melts from being crushed; build me up according to your word. This is what it means when you translate it close to the original language. My soul falls like water because of sorrow, worry, or pressure. Please follow your word and raise me up. Although the Korean Bible is not accurate, it is an interpretative translation that fits the Korean sentiment well.

II. soul crush

What is this soul crushing? Nulim is the Hebrew word tuga, which is derived from the verb lyaka. Sorrow lamentation suffering, especially sorrow, is translated here as the word oppressed. When we look at the various usages of the Bible, it refers to suffering, a great worry that is hard to bear. A human being is made up of a soul and a body. This material body is governed by the image of the soul and is used as a tool. The body perishes from this world and disappears for a while, but the soul is eternally immortal.

What does it mean to say that this soul is crushed? The word rafsi, translated as soul, is used in several different senses. It also means life, person, throat, breath, mind and emotion. The suppression here refers to the appearance of intense disorder that exceeds the amount that can normally be tolerated, driving the poet's heart into deep sorrow and inflicting pain.

In the process of overcoming suffering, change is facilitated by a holy character. When you try to overcome that painful disorder without grace, it brings constant pain to the soul, which ultimately hurts it badly. Mental illness such as delirium and bipolar disorder.

III. recording of the heart

The poet has an experience that melts his heart. The word Daraepa, translated as noksaoni, is used in the Bible to describe the melting of a candle as it burns. When you can't handle it in your own strength, you turn to God. Even iron, which never changes until its shape is melted, can freely change its shape when it is melted in a hot fire.

God melts our hearts with the fire of sorrow and pain. But even if we are gripped by unbearable sorrow and pain, our hearts will not melt if we do not move forward with God's grace. A melting heart is a heart that fully allows God to shape my heart. You will learn how to live by holding on to the Word of God in the midst of trials and tribulations, and the wonderful secrets of godliness that melts your heart and creates a new person. In the Bible, there are so many people of suffering who fell down after living according to God's word and got up again and went to find their goal. In order to use David, God makes David go through great hardship that no one else can bear. Even though he did nothing wrong, he was hated by Saul and chased away. After becoming king, he suffered the pain of being betrayed by his own children. In the process, he became a person who only depended on God. So his heart often melted like water. God constantly shaped him through suffering.

IV. built on the word

He tried to rebuild his heart that melted like water with the word of God. The phrase “set me up according to your word” here can be interpreted in two ways. One, as God has said, that is, as God has promised, raise me up. The other is, when you establish me, please do it according to the word of God. is to interpret it. I see both of these interpretations as correct, but I think the second interpretation fits the poem's original text better. The word “waking up” is used several times in the Bible, and in many cases it means to happen with a spiritual awakening. To rise here means to arise in the presence of spiritual awakening. When the soul is confused, if God allows you to accurately listen to even a single word, the soul will rise again.

V. Conclusion

When God heals our souls, He heals only with His Word. So, Satan is desperate to block the channel of grace. It is the channel of prayer and the channel of the Word. This is because the true work of the spirit takes place here. Therefore, what matters is not the situation you are in, but the Word of God. No matter what situation you are in, God will save you.

No matter what kind of situation you are in, pray that your heart will melt before God by the grace of the Lord. I hope you will depend on the Lord who will rebuild you who have fallen through the word.
