When he came near, he saw the city and wept, saying, "It would have been good if you also had known today the things of peace, but now it is hidden from your eyes. The day will come. Your enemies will build up a bastion around you and imprison you on all sides, and you and I will cast down your children who are in them to the ground, and I will not leave a stone upon a stone, because you do not know the day of your care" (Luke 19:41-44)
Christianity is a religion that is very sensitive to time. So the Bible is very careful about the time. Because there is a beginning and an ending time, it is very important to know right away what time we are living in today and where we are now. The symbol of today's civilized people is thorough conception of time, and knowing and keeping the right time is the symbol of cultural people. At this time, there are signs of the time. Just as each season has its own sign when it arrives, there are signs in every human time. The day we meet is a sign of today's time.
The development of scientific civilization has now entered the computer age and the space age, the absolute weapons stock of powerful countries has already crossed the limit line, the crises in Southeast Asia and the Middle East are increasing, the free world is confronted with the gap between the rich and the poor, and young people Intoxicated with drugs, alcohol, tobacco, etc., the mental state is clouded, the liberation of the castle is unstoppable, the spiritual world of the world flows into superstitious tendencies, the law and order become lax and unstable, and the religious world is a dry bone in the valley of the skull Being in the same state is a sign of this time today.
Recently, at the general meeting of the Methodist Church in St. Louis, USA, more than 100 young people came in and demonstrated the words of Ezekiel 37:3, "Can these bones live?" There is news that The omen of all these times is as if a great storm is just around the corner, and it is like the moment when the judge of history has just arrived at the door and is holding the doorknob.
Times are not only signs of times, but also sounds of times. The words "I can't live" and "I'm going to die" are rampant in everyone's mouth, and the metallic noise that fills today's sky is like a scream. All intellectuals are equally eager to observe the future, but at the same time express fearful doubts. If you live well in the future, you can live well now, but if you do not live well, you will be destroyed and will be thrown away. It is said that this is the moment when the defendant who stands before the judgment seat is sentenced to death or is given a new life of acquittal. Even if there is a war, if an all-out war does happen, it will be over, and even if we live well, the world will be as amazing as heaven on earth. The bell that heralds the end of the human race is being gently heard, and the moment when the stage curtain is about to be lifted is approaching moment by moment.
We know that this prediction of the end is not the end of the entire human race, but it is the same even if it is a moment of historical time. At this very moment, the word of the Lord said, 'This is the time when he is looking for you.' 2 Corinthians 6:1-2 says, “Now is the time of the giving of grace and the day of salvation.” Just as he sends rain to grow five grains in spring and summer, God pours out grace to help us in time for our spiritual growth. If you miss the time of grace, you will never have another chance. When you receive grace, you must repay it with gratitude. We must offer the gift of thanks and use the gift of grace to shine for good works. The Christian life means receiving everything as a gift of God's grace, dedicating everything to that grateful will, and living with thanks and praise every day.
We do not have much room for salvation at times as this time is nearing the time of judgment. Just like when Noah was preparing the ark, it is at this time that he foresees the coming of the eternal end of the world and searches for someone to save him. This is the time when God has predestined and chosen His people, not wanting even one of them to be forsaken, but wanting them to enter the ark of His salvation and seek Him. Jesus also foresaw the destruction of Jerusalem in this Bible and spoke of this time as the time to receive salvation. There is a new debate about what form of salvation will come today, but there is no doubt that God's hand must support us in order to escape from the ruin of a generation and become the protagonists of a new history.
Today, we must be able to actively participate in God's work of redemption to reject this old generation, the decaying secular society, and to lead us to the position of becoming the protagonists of a new, righteous, true world of justice, peace and freedom, one unified world.
