place not to be
1 Samuel 29:1-5
There are times in our lives that we take small parts lightly or neglect them. However, there are times when things that seem easy to be small turn into bigger things. Especially in spiritual matters. We must not forget that the maturation of faith starts with small parts.
Today's text is about David's attempt to seek political asylum. The Philistine King Achish accepts this. We who read the Bible think of David as a model of faith. But David, who was in exile, could not find anywhere in the Bible that he prayed. It is presumed that this was David's own decision. He would have thought lightly that it was coming and going. However, it is necessary to examine what happened to David's insignificant actions.
In verse 2 we see David and his men behind King Achish. Eventually, he finds himself in a situation where he has to go to war with his people. If David were to be involved in this battle, perhaps he would not have been able to become an enemy of Israel or their king. It is the result of the breaking of God's promises. How did you come to this point, how did you get to this situation? The reason is that I didn't pray. not discussed. From my experience, I thought I could do anything. David's current situation is the same as that of Moses and the people of Israel who were in front of the Red Sea in the past. It's a desperate situation where you can't do this or that. Brothers and sisters, are you in this desperate situation right now? Start again in 2012 with prayer. You need to be clear about where you should be and where you shouldn't be.
I looked at people and tried to solve them as human beings. Seeing the world without seeing God caused David to fall. David must have been upset. No matter how much I thought, I couldn't find an answer. At the moment when nothing can be done like this, God works. In a way that David could not have imagined. Verse 4 The chieftains of the Philistines oppose David's participation in the war. From King Achish's point of view, this is a wonderful strategy to finally destroy Israel. But regardless of King Achish or David's will, their chiefs object. God blocks it in God's way. God always has a third way. God's grace is here. David must have realized that everything was God's grace.
If you neglect the little things, they become big things. It takes decisiveness to cut off the little things from the start. Pray and discuss with God first. Don't take it lightly because it's a small thing. Without realizing it, only the work of Satan within me becomes full. Do not give way to Satan. We must pray so that Satan does not enter in 2012. Only the Lord can solve it. Pray to God, listen to His voice, and discuss together. Cry out boldly against resentment and resentment, laziness, selfishness and doubt. “In the name of Jesus, I command you to go away, Satan!”
We pray that we will become soldiers armed with faith and become saints who go forward with a loud shout of victory.
