Old Testament
18. And all the peoples saw thunders and lightnings and the sound of trumpets and the smoke of the mountain; and when they saw them, they trembled and stood afar off.
19. He said to Moses, "Speak to us, and we will hear. Let God not speak to us, lest we die."
20. And Moses said to the people, "Do not be afraid, for God is coming to test you, that you may fear and do not sin."
21. The people stood afar off, and Moses drew near into the darkness where God was.
22. And the LORD said to Moses, "Thus you shall say to the children of Israel, for you have seen what I am speaking to you from heaven.
23. You shall not make idols for yourselves of silver or gold,
24. Build me an altar of earth, and on it offer your burnt offerings and peace offerings of your sheep and oxen, and I will come and bless you wherever I do my name.
25. If you build an altar of stone to me, do not build it with hewn stones, for if you peck at it with a chisel, it becomes unclean.
26. You must not go up to my altar by stairs, lest your lower body be exposed on it.
new testament
19. The woman said, "Lord, I see that you are a prophet."
20. Our ancestors worshiped on this mountain, but you say that the place of worship is in Jerusalem.
21. Jesus said to her, “Woman, believe me, the hour is coming when you will worship the Father neither on this mountain nor in Jerusalem.
22. You worship what you do not know; we worship what we know, for salvation is of the Jews.
23. The hour is coming, and now is, when those who truly worship the Father will worship in spirit and truth, and the Father is looking for those who worship Him in this way.
24. God is spirit, and those who worship him must worship in spirit and truth.
sermon
We want to offer the most holy and reverent worship.
Then, what is the true worship that God wants?
1. Why do we worship?
A. It is because we are those who have received ( ) by the grace of God (Ephesians 2:8).
B. It is because God is the one who receives our worship ( ). (Rev 5:12)
2. What is the essence of worship?
A. Worship is to go to the midst of God ( ) and meet Him (Exodus 20:21).
B. Worship is to offer yourself as you are without ( ). (Exodus 20:25)
3. How should worship be held?
A. You must worship with ( ). Because God is spirit (John 4:24).
B. You must worship with ( ). Because we worship through Christ who is the truth (John 8:32).
When we worship in this way, God gives the light of life to our spirits and sets us free by realizing the truth.
