You who know righteousness, slander and slander
Contents
1. Words that begin
Some philosophers have said that they have to acknowledge the existence of God, seeing that the world doesn't work as the human being, the lord of all things. Some historians have concluded that history is God's judgment. One of the lessons of history is that people and nations who persecute church members who are not just chosen people and church members, but who are true chosen people, will perish. In this world, because the devil is weak, the unrighteous and evil people prosper and sometimes overcome. The heroes of aggression and conquest, not God's judgment, all set up a cause, but in reality, they suffered from demonic greed, lust for honor, and display, which resulted in mass murder and torture, mass looting and arson, mass destruction and pollution, mass sexual assault, and so on. They are war criminals of sexual harassment, large-scale feuds and conflicts between fellows. Their prosperity and victories are limited to the time set by God, who waits for them to repent. Job 20:5 says, “The glory of the wicked is brief, but the joy of the perverted is temporary.”
2. Chosen people who know righteousness and have the law in their hearts
From 549 to 538 B.C.E., from the time of Cyrus king of Persia's victory over the Medes to the conquest of Babylon, Israel was in Babylonian captivity. Babylon had heard about a relationship with God and a glorious future, as claimed by Israel, a weaker nation, but in reality, all of that did not go well. As a result, Israel has also been despised and ridiculed by neighboring countries and Yi peoples. They had no choice but to endure their ridicule and ridicule, humiliation and insult, threat and harm, slander and slander. In this respect, there is not much difference between a powerless country or a powerless individual.
At that time, the voice of God was heard in Israel. “You who know righteousness, you people whose heart is my law, hear me, and do not be afraid of the slander of men, and do not be dismayed by their slander.”
“Righteousness” of “those who know righteousness” does not mean the right thing to do as a human being. The philosophical, ethical, moral, legal, and religious righteousness that people advocate differs depending on the position of the masters in the field. Also, each righteousness may differ in different countries or generations, depending on the interests of the place or time.
The same is true of countries and peoples who say they are civilized countries, cultural giants, and developed countries. Recently, the issue of returning the Jikji heart gyeonggyeong has been resurfaced. During the Byeonginyangyo period, the French army looted the Buddhist book Jikjisimcheyojeol (直指心 要節). The Jikji Heart Sutra is the world's oldest metal typeface and is a precious treasure registered as a cultural heritage by UNESCO, the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization. It should be returned in the interests of the individual or the country.
In 1993, then President Mitterrand of France publicly promised that if Korea adopts the French high-speed rail (TGV: Korean name KTX), not only will the high-speed rail technology be transferred, but also the Jikji Simgyeong will be returned. However, when it was adopted, it was only an absurd pun about the fact that the librarian in charge of the Louvre was decisively opposed to the permanent lease, let alone returning the Jikji Heart Sutra. In addition, they did not provide technical support for the high-speed rail that they promised at the beginning, and only received a huge amount of alimony from the High-Speed Rail Corporation every year as per the unequal contract. A very cunning high-level scammer. The victim is also a problem.
However, French philosophers, ethicists, lawyers, and clergy, who are first-class intellectuals and conscientious people, are not showing the right reason for their country's unjust fraudulent practices. Rather, we can only hear voices insisting that their country's attitude is 'righteousness'. Even the librarian in charge of the Louvre said, “It is unacceptable to hand over cultural assets such as the Jikji Simgyeong to uncivilized countries in Asia, even after death.”
Aren't Japan's first-class intelligence and conscience from all walks of life invading Korea and other Asian countries and committing all kinds of atrocities? How many of these things are there in international or human relations? Aren't religions the noblest of righteousness? But how can we call the righteousness of religions that promote polygamy, polygamy, gender equality, racial discrimination, and obscene acts for a good harvest? How can the righteousness of religions that believe in the sun, moon, stars, animals and plants as gods, and conquerors and war-lovers as gods can be called righteousness?
In a word, all relative human righteousness is a disguise and adornment of selfishness or collective selfishness. There are too many self-proclaimed righteous people who say that what others do is injustice and what I do is righteous. Romans 3:10 says that there is no one righteous, not even one.
When God said to Israel, who were living in captivity under humiliation, slander, and slander, “you who know righteousness,” he meant those who were justified through faith in God. Isaiah 1:18 says, “Come, let us reason together, says the Lord, though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they be red as crimson, they shall be like wool.” Regarding the Savior Jesus who came into the world, the apostle Paul said, “In the gospel the righteousness of God is revealed, from faith to faith, as it is written, The righteous will live by faith.” Romans 1:17 et seq. Human righteousness, including the four great saints, is diverse, relative, limited, and temporary according to positions and interests, but God's righteousness is eternal and God's salvation extends to the ages.
The way for the saints who know God's eternal righteousness and the fact that they have been justified by faith in God to enjoy the grace and blessings of God the Savior is to keep God's law in their hearts and practice it. The way to walk with God the Savior is to live a life of love that is the fulfillment of the law.
Those who truly know righteousness and have the law of God's love in their hearts, listen to God's word, hear people's slander, and are not afraid, and when they hear slander, they are not surprised. There are three reasons for this.
First, the judgment of those who slander or slander the weak and disadvantaged is not a right idea, but a negative preconceived notion, superiority, or malice. Criticism of others should also be avoided because it is difficult to obtain sufficient data and accurate information, and it is difficult to discern whether the critic's point of view is right or wrong. The voices of people who blaspheme and slander without knowing it are not worth listening to.
Second, it is because the judgment of people, especially the public, of slander, slander, praise or praise, etc. is often changed. There is no need to be afraid of their ever-changing hindrances and no need to be surprised by their slander. How many times have you been praised as the idol of the nation today, but slandered as a traitor to the nation tomorrow? In particular, the masses have no expertise and are dominated by collective selfishness. The crowd of 5,000 men and women in the crowd tried to make Jesus king after seeing the miracle benefits of Jesus' five loaves of fish. When the people saw Jesus entering Jerusalem, who preached and taught the gospel of salvation and performed many wonders and miracles, the crowd cheered, “Hosanna to the Son of David! . Hosanna means ‘I beg you, save me now!’, and it is a word of praise to God. Such a crowd clamored for Jesus to be crucified, feeling betrayed when they saw Jesus' arrest and trial by Pilate, contrary to expectations.
Third, it is because people who slander and slander others do not reflect on themselves and have little interest in their own growth. These people are engrossed in self-righteousness even though the subjectivity formed by the Word of God has not been established. They try to fit everyone and everything into their own standards, and anything that doesn't meet their standards is considered slander and slander.
In Matthew 7:4 and below, Jesus referred to these people and said, “Behold, there is a log in your eye, why do you say to your brother, ‘Let me take the speck out of your eye? Remove it, and then I will see clearly and remove the speck from your brother’s eye.”
There are some things that those who slander and slander out of self-righteousness must keep in mind. The time will come when you will be eaten by moths like clothes and worms like wool. There are more things to keep in mind. God's righteousness endures forever, and God's salvation lasts forever.
3. Conclusion
When you see that war criminals are called heroes for a cause, even by philosophers, ethicists, clergy, and other intellectuals of the same nation or country, you can see that few people know about righteousness. People and nations who persecute church members and the chosen people who know God's righteousness and have been justified by faith in God, not relative to human righteousness, will perish in due time. Therefore, the saints who know true righteousness, have God's law in their hearts, and live by love, which is the fulfillment of the law, are not afraid of people's slander, nor are they surprised by slander. Because God's righteousness is eternal, and God's salvation is eternal. (Poongseong Methodist Church.
